Not sure. I actually play in college and find it easier to profit off of compared to the other main sports such as nba,mlb and nfl.

It is exciting, I love watching and playing it. Perhaps because a good deal of Americans are not too thrilled with it? I love the MLS, partially because of the fact that the good teams are good, and the bad teams are terrible (see NY Red Bulls) makes betting easy

Because America will never embrace soccer. Im pretty neutral on it myself but your average American sports fan not only has no interest in soccer but will mock it and those who follow it.

                  Why?

Not many Americans bet it and plus time zones are all fukked up which makes it a huge turnoff

Not enough ad time for broadcasters to sell. Soccer match goes 90-95 minutes, in real time it's about 2 hours. Football game is 60 minutes, yet real time it lasts over 3 hours.

That's the main reason soccer will never become huge in the US. Networks won't give it the exposure.

Different time zones, I like. Place my bet and doesn't allow me to be glued to computer trying to watch the score because the game is on at 3am or 6am. Place bet, go to sleep. Also you can place a wager on a game pretty much anyday any time. Games are always going on 24/7.

To play, not watch. And to be the fastest growing means it has to be unpopular to start with. It can grow all it wants its never going to catch football, baseball and basketball. This doesnt mean its not as good of a sport, but things like this dont really change.

Because this is a US-facing website, and in the US, the sport is pretty much tied for fourth with NHL because most people, as adults, follow the sports and teams they followed as kids. It took baseball and football and basketball many generations to catch on, and they got to grow without having to bust through the attention paid to another sport (they all actually used to have separate seasons). Soccer is having to grow in direct competition with established sports.

Also, soccer brings out US egotism. We didn't invent the sport, and we're not the best at it.

a few of things spring to mind - they can play for 90 minutes without either team scoring - a large number of players spend more time lying down on the ground with non-existent injuries than actually playing - some of the soccer leagues are rife with match fixing - they have group orgies after each goal...

one reason to be interested in Soccer is the atmosphere at a game. Frankly, all the hardcore fans have been to a game at some point which swayed them into liking it. Kinda like hockey if you arent interested in that. Go to a game and the thrill rubs off on you.

attending a soccer game is one of the most exciting things you can do ,
soccer fans dont need any stadion announcers to cheer them up

Its either in your blood or its not

Football/soccer worldwide has a passion unrivalled by any other sport on such a global sport.

One cannot describe the feeling, its just a feeling that footy fans know

Wish the Americans would embrace it more but they dont and we all seem to be ok with that on both sides of the divide.

There is nothing like being in the AWAY end at a football match. Being part of 2000 fans at old trafford or anfield is brilliant, especially if your team scores.

But Yes, it is definitely a major part of your life for many football fans. In Middlesbrough, if the team loses on the Saturday, apparently skiving off work and lower production output increases.
Simply because a 'soccer' match was lost.
I'm one of them, takes me till wednesday to get over a loss, think how i felt when we got relegated

Spot on with that. I've been to many games both home and away with the Owls, and a fair few with Boro just for a day on the beer, and being in the minority is amazing. I Think its because you get the real "hardcore" fans that go to away matches, sort of old schoolers, whereas at home you get about 20k fans who are prawn sandwich munchers.

But Yes, it is definitely a major part of your life for many football fans. In Middlesbrough, if the team loses on the Saturday, apparently skiving off work and lower production output increases.

I'm one of them, takes me till wednesday to get over a loss, think how i felt when we got relegated
Say you were happy when you beat us (Liverpool) 2-0 last season . Our worst game of the season which argueably cost us the league . Ah, we'll, I'm not bitter, the best of luck in the Championship, you'll beat Newcastle, to bounce right back to the league.

I wonder how well Wolves will do in the league this season?
