I was watching his tourney today and seeing him help out with the kiddies, the troops and talk about issues, etc, when suddenly, I had a thought.
Could Tiger Woods be a future President?
Think about it.. This guy is gonna be positioned well in the coming years. Everyone loves him, he does a great deal of charity work and will be worth 2.5 Billion OR MORE by then.
He will NOT need to "be in bed with" special interest to raise funds. He is loved/respected by Democrats and Republicans alike. The barrier for an African American President has already been broken with Obama so race will not be an issue.
If Obama talked about Post Partisan Politics, Tiger could really usher that in. The man has tremendous character, great charisma and shows the focus and determination of any great leader. His business acumen and charity endeavors alone make him qualified and respected enough to at least entertain the notion.
Maybe starting off as a Senator would be best. But in the next 18 or 19 years, he could slowly build up a knowledge of world issues and make the necessary associations to build a consensus behind him.
Not sure which party affiliation he has, but perhaps he could run as an Independent and truly shake up the way things are done in Washington. He would definitely have friends on both sides of the aisle.
Not sure if he would actually consider such a thing, but many other former athletes have entertained the political arena.
Plus, being President would sure be a lot better than being on the Senior PGA Tour...
