#9I've always almost exclusively used an AMEX card and pay it off at the end of each month. That dates back to the first AMEX I got in the mid-70s. Don't believe I ever let my first ********** go higher than about $800-$1000. Wife carried a several thousand in CC debt into the marriage, and the squahitas was quickly applied to that practice. I think one of our cards probably has about $1500 on it right now and that's it.Comment -

#16Always a good thing to have, even if you don't use it frequently. You never know when you'll need to spend a lot of money all at once (medical, car repairs, other emergency, etc). Being able to just swipe a piece of plastic and be on your way sure beats nibbling at savings accounts, investments, etc until you have the money to pay for it.Comment -
