Its the 1st leg of a 2 leg affair , so the pressure will be on Nacional to get a result at home. They are only recently back in action in league play in Paraguay and it hasnt fared well for them. They have yet to win , having lost and drawn at home and drawn at Indep. Their most recent collapse was at home 3 days ago against lowly General Diaz, where they conceded a 90+3 equalizer. Botafogo are a mid table side in Brazil , but have a distinct advantage in overall talent. Their approximate transfer value is in the $29 million range compared to a mere $2 million for Nacional. The Brazilians are taking this game seriously by sending forwards Pampao and Kieza in addition to key midfielder Lindoso to Paraguay. Last round , Botafogo beat a much better side in Chile 2 - 1 ( Audax Italiano ).

Leipzig played in Sweden yesterday in a 2nd leg Europa game. With a 4 - 0 lead from the 1st leg several key players were rested, yet still traveled with the team. Todays friendly is being played in a small town in Austria where Huddersfield have been training prior to their EPL campaign. Leipzig will be without players like Augustin , Forsberg , Demme, Konate , Poulson etc , as they were all in Sweden yesterday. With this being Huddersfield's last tune up game before they open the season next week vs Chelsea , they will be including several starters in todays game.

Up until last season , Hamburg were the only German First Division team to never get demoted. They had a clock in the Stadium that kept track of the many many years , hours etc. So today is a brand new season in foreign territory , Division 2 Fussball. They still have a very talented side , that had a very nice run to end last season but it was too late for survival. They have a transfer value of $53 million to Holstein Kiel's $13 million. Their preseason friendlies were a huge success , winning all 6. It included the likes of Stoke City , Monaco , Rapid Vienna , and CSKA Moscow , all of which are a step above little Holstein. I really see a 3 - 1 type of win , and a big season for both Koln and Hamburger, as they cruise to promotion next year. Holstein had an average away record in 2nd Div of 6W 7L 4D , and lost the H/A relegation battle to Wolfsburg 1 -3 and 0 - 1, a team that Hamburger had beaten only weeks earlier.

Metz are a recently demoted side from 1st division , where they were perennial losers. They are still a large step ahead of the quality available in 2nd Division football. The results of their friendlies was an impressive 4 - 1 - 1 , and they opened the season winning 1 - 0 away to Brest in impressive fashion controlling throughout. Orleans are a mid table side in L2 at best , as they were a dismal 5W 4D and 10L on the road last year. They have shown very little improvement to start the new season as well , and lost their home opener 2 - 0 to Lens. Metz are an estimated $30 million in transfer value vs Orleans at $ 7.7 million.
