#79What do you not understand about "one party"? It's a phone call, and it's in NJ. Hence, you can record whatever you damn please as long as you are part of the phone call.Comment -

I was agreeing with the warning that he should be aware when we weren't sure, then we started talking about why, which is the heavy punishment in a two party consent state.
The punishments are surprisingly (to some) severe.
In New Jersey, as long as sweep stays in New Jersey and doesn't plan to commit a crime with the info, then he's good.
Doesn't automatically mean it's admissible in a court of law either.
Effectively, there need not be any consent if sweep is on the call.
Not all the states are the same and some punish severely.
New Jersey voted on a law making it an "all party consent" state not long ago.
The bill will come up again.Comment -

#81all party consent means both have to agree
How can sweep post it then??
I would just stay away from it especially a casino and gambling not worth itComment -

#84New Jersey Wiretapping Law. New Jersey's wiretapping law is a "one-party consent" law. New Jersey makes it a crime to intercept or record an in-person or telephone conversation unless one party to the conversation consents. N.J.
So Sweeper has to announce he is taping??Comment -

One party consent basically means you cannot eavesdrop and record a conversation you are not involved in without permission by at least one person engaged in the conversation being recorded.Comment -

#92Can't make this shit up. We're posters at an online gambling site that promotes offshore books that are illegal to play at in the U.S., yet we're worried about the legality of making a video recording a conversation with a legal sportsbook manager? When did we start caring about the law?Comment -

#96Here is what happened as the good moderator I am , I wanted to make sure this was legal because I have been reading eavesdropping stories lately and people getting busted. We contacted the SBR legal team and they were unsure, KVB a lawyer himself said it is only 1 party consent in NJ so technically Sweeper could of done it. The SBR legal team was still iffy on it.Comment -
