Hell, I'll take it a step further. Forget being legitimately excited, am I the only one on the entire board that has heard of:

John Tavares
Victor Hedman
Matt Duchene
Evander Kane
Brayden Schenn
Jared Cowan
and
Magnus Svensson-Paajarvi?

I doubt it. He is too completely blinded by hatred for players and teams he dislikes to actually be interested in assessing talent and team needs and what not outside of Philadelphia. Anyone who claims that Sidney Crosby, talent-wise, isn't in the Top 10 in the league in skill is just not someone who cares about hockey on a real-world level.

It is one thing not to like Lebron James. It is quite another to say there are at least 10 better players in the NBA.

Hedman certainly wouldn't be a "settle"... he's a franchise defenseman waiting to happen and would shore up the blue-line for a long time in New York.

They can't deal the top pick AND settle for Hedman... if they dealt to the Leafs they'd get a treasure cove of players, picks, and prospects, but they'd move all the way down to picking 7th overall, and Hedman will be long gone.

I think Hedman is actually the smart/safe pick; But Tavares will fill more seats, and he certainly isn't a "wrong" pick either. Fun time to be an Isles fan, no doubt.

I just don't think Toronto has enough in the prospect bank to get your #1... their pipeline is pretty dry. If they did somehow though, you'd probably get MSP 7th, another gifted forward.

He was an amateur goalie. "Dave the Save" was his name. He was so big he basically covered the whole crease with his body without moving.

Blitty should be very happy... serious overpayment for the Flyers in my opinion. I mean Pronger is still one of the best in the game and will be a great fit in Philly, but he's an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year.

Lupul, Sbisa (08 19th overall), 2009 21st overall, AND 2010 1st rounder? Great trade for the Ducks.

I agree with everything Vegas said.

ducks got the better end of the deal. But Lupul is weak and got hit left and right in the playoffs. Sbisa was never given a chance to show his skill. I personally liked him a lot.

But yes, Pronger will fit in perfectlly with the FLyers defense, they needed a big guy who can hit. I just hope he is not another Hatcher, washed up and injured.
