Cracker at Lee's Palace in Toronto.

I saw many great rock concerts in my younger days but I can't even remember the last time. I saw The Everly Brothers and Dion in the early 90's but I don't know if that counts. If there is no danger of someone smashing a guitar to bits, is it really a rock concert?

There is an opening act tonight called Shortwave. Never heard of them. I would rather skip them but it is general admission so we will want to get the best seats possible so I guess I'll get a look at Shortwave.

I love Cracker. I have familiarized myself with the new CD so I know pretty much everything they might play. I have been assured I will have to stand through the whole show - apparently that's how it works these days at rock concerts - so I am mentally prepared for that. I feel like a gladiator preparing to enter the coliseum.

    Who cares? I don't know. I swear I don't know.

    That is all.

Didn't know Cracker was still even touring....sounds like a good time. They are a solid band.

Isn't general admission usually no seating Mudcat?

About 10 times. They used to be my favorite band up until I was about 17. Now I can't listen to them. I respect what they have done but Geddy's voice has completely lost its listenability for me.

They used to play Maple Leaf Gardens every New Year's Eve (with Max Webster or April Wine) and I was always there for that and would see them at times in between.

I have been to many general admission shows that had seating - but as for this particular venue, I'm not going to even pretend to understand how it's set up. I am ready for anything. I will be dressed like a character from Mad Max with all kinds of padding and interesting concealed weapons.

I've gotten so spoiled seeing great bands in small venues like Gruene Hall, I'm not sure I really want to ever go to a concert in a big arena again. Going to see The Flatlanders at this place on Saturday. Neat place to see a show, haven't seen these three guys together in 25 years so looking forward to it.

I love Progressive Rock! The virtuoso instrumental playing, the drama queen voice, the long anthems, the time signature changes. What a rush!

Rush, Dream Theater, and I'd even throw Tool under this category.

I went with her and 4 of her friends to see Toby Keith/Trace Adkins Saturday night and it was boring compared to the Rock and Roll shows back when I was younger. Didn't even get a hint of any Weed in the crowd. No containers allowed and water was $4 a small bottle. Drank 4 bottles while there because it was friggin hot (outdoor show) in Noblesville, IN. I enjoyed the show ok. Lot of hot country girls in their skirts and cowgirl boots.

Yeah that was one thing I noticed that had changed from 20 years back. No weed smoking. I guess places like this have had to crack down. I only even caught a whiff on people a couple times the whole evening.

But anyway the main point is, these guys RAWK !!!!!!!

I don't get how they aren't more popular. There were only maybe 400 people at this show. I feel like they should be selling out the Air Canada Centre or at least playing a big concert hall.

I guess they have their pockets of popularity. Someone was saying their new single is #15 on the Billboard charts so that is something.

Glad you had a great time, Mudcat.

Us old guys need a reminder of the good ol days once in awhile.
