There's a difference here in Texas between a 'barber' and a 'hair stylist.' Not sure what laws might be in other states, but you have to be a licensed barber in Texas to use a straight razor. I agree that as far as barbers go, a straight man is the way to go. I don't know many gays that are actual barbers rather than cosmetologists or hair stylists. I go to a straight barber when I need a better haircut than I can give myself and it's like a little battery-charging station of masculinity to shoot the breeze with the other guys and get a hot lather and shave.
