I remember I met this cool-ass Dutch kid in another forum. This was years ago - he got me into the language. I read a couple of books and tried watching Dutch movies. That was a while back though.

Italian is another language I love. That's a lot easier though since it's a Romance language.

I really doubt you know this guy. This was in a Rage Against the Machine forum.

I remember I had him send me some Dutch weed inside this jar of jelly but it never got to me - customs probably got a hold of it.

His name was uhm...Nathan Von something. I could ask him? I still keep in touch with him every now and then. He lives like 15 minutes outside of Amsterdam.

A large portion of Dutch names have "van", "vander" or "van der" but "von" is German, and we Dutch tend to not care for the Germans. It goes to how they treated us in WWII: starving a large portion of the population. Frankly, a portion of us think, if given the chance, they'd sooner march through small countries stealing everything again.

But I pride myself in being enlightened; if they want to sit naked on our beaches drinking our beer, we're happy to sell it and the Hotel space to them.

Vega was a classic

I will never forget when he posted he was a soccer player and made a big bet at the greek, he had the forum world up in arms. I forgot the actual case but it was legendary.

Also he was the one that knew the lights were going out in some football or hockey game and had a big bet on it.

He did move lines when he bet big.

yeah jj, he had alot in common with you. he said he was an electrician and worked at home games in CFL at calgary and said that he'd turn out the lights of the stadium with over 5 mins to go so if he's losing the bet, the game won't be official.
