Why do ppl predict the end of the world?

If the world ends tomorrow so be it I guess we're all fuked, if it doesn't end for 10000 years that would be much better but whats the point in predicting it?

The ancient Mayans, Egyptians, Nostradamus, Bible, Koran every book supposedly has some crazy ass code you have to decipher to get the date for end of the world, when the date passes well guess we deciphered the code wrong oh here we go its 3 yrs from now what do u know we were only off by 3 years again, sorry we didn't catch that before

What's amazing is that many of these books predate the Roman calendar, also who the fuk would ever predict the world to end in 2000+ years and then encode it in some impossible to decipher way? Seriously you'd have to be a nut to even make a prediction 2000+ years in the future, of course they claim there are all these "signs", wars (been going on throughout history), breakdown of moral values (morals are relative anyway, Muslim world is super old school do you think they are more moral than modern world since they kill ppl for no reason?) etc etc etc that indicate the end of the world bc of prophesy, of course prophesy predicts negative things leading up to the end of the world. Wouldn't be much of a prophesy if it predicted just when the world finally gets united and there is nothing but happiness, moral behavior and peace God will show up and say fuk this gay shit and nuke the earth.
