I'm waiting for a proper review of the facts. I'm not 100% sold on the player's story yet. I have tons of Challenger tennis bets at 5dimes, all within the limits, and have had no problems.

Probably right after VIP is made a C and CRIS is made a D.(two recent bforum calls)

Problems happen at every book. What you really want to look for is a pattern. 5Dimes has been a great book for more than 4 years. Thats been their long term pattern and thats what their current rating represents.

The conspiracy buffs make a good point that this is a business. But if you look at the history of how we handle downgrades to the B+ and higher books its pretty consistant.

The forum is a great place to kick around opinions and even conspiracy theories. But it wont have any effect on the measure twice and cut once approach to the ratings.

There are about 40 complaints on the guy Tony at 5 Dimes

Lets wait until we get 50, then we will downgrade

Can you post even 1/10 of those current complaint links here you say are out there?

We clear player comments and complaints into SBR day and night. I'm fairly positive SBR is not aware of any spike in complaints or change in 5Dimes base business. They do need to settle the current complaint fairly.

In the SBR review we state a negative to this book is their bonus policy. The policy is flawed. They should change it if they want to avoid this kind of bad PR. Hopefully threads like this will cause 5Dimes to improve.

Are you saying there are bonuses involved in this dispute John? I thought the player said in the other thread he'd never received a bonus..?

No Santo. I mentioned it because this is our most common beef from 5Dime players. Its also a policy that we have made clear that should be changed. The 5Dimes folks read this forum so I like to take every opportunity to make it clear that the bonus policy is still problematic.

4 years of great service? BULLSHIT!! 5Dimes has had a pattern of this crap. Very rare for a bettor to be a winning player. One outright stiff job by the sportsbook should automatically drop them.

                    Leave rating alone until investigation

I don't support dropping their rating until after an investigation of the current complaint by Romaine. I don't think a rating should be dropped just because the majority of posters think it should be dropped. SBR does not have a democratic system of determining ratings, which is good, to keep it as journalist giving their opinion whether the users agree with it or not.

Nevertheless, these are serious charges, that the book cancelled bets after the event - that would not have been cancelled if there was a lost. There is rarely any excuse for this.

The fact is the player's funds were at risk of lost, therefore he almost always must be paid if there he is a won.

5 dimes has been reputable overall over the years. They definitely should have the opportunity to tell there side of the story.

I appreciate SBR doing all the work to investigate these complaints.

Chuck did you read the happenings of this multiple account complaint? 5Dimes is not an A+ book but they are far better than your description.

We have taken two books down and sent them their ad money back already this year; Hollywood and Mansion and downgraded a SBRLines sponsor this month. Bill Dozer's staff is the final say on their rating. As the above examples show where they advertise, including at SBR, is not a factor.

The fact is 5Dimes has been an excellent book for a long time and they deserve a fair process from SBR as any well respected book would get.

MW had about 10 complaints on Tony in one thread over there this week.

I think 5 Dimes is great if you keep a balance of 1000 or lower there.

                        Better to safe

This is off the subject of this post, but can anyone point me to a thread where you might have talked about the decision to take down mansion and refund them? I missed all of that and am curious to read about it.

There is at least one other bad thing I can say about 5Dimes: They accuse bettors to bet on 'erroneous' lines if they pick out good odds and bet on them. On the other side it is not clear what exactly are these 'erroneous' lines and from which point such lines are not just good odds but erroneous lines. Furthermore they threatened a friend of mine to close his account if he continues to bet on these bad lines, especially because he would operate together with other persons who would bet on the same lines. This is a very stupid accusation though: 5Dimes lines are shown on many betting comparison sites, for example at Betbrain. 5Dimes allow Betbrain to show their lines. Therefore it is obvious that as soon as they have odds above average that many bettors place bets on them within a few minutes. But of course that doesn't mean they work together or are a 'syndicate' in any way. For me since a long time it is clear to stay away from 5Dimes to avoid the risk to be called a member of a syndicate or accused to bet on 'erroneous' lines.

5 Dimes does not want you to win at all whether it is $500 or more. I do not know why, possibly underfunded.

Kiwi there are many complaints like this about 5 Dimes and now all of a sudden poping up on forums.
