I don't think UNLV had a ML bet anywhere last year but I'm pretty sure Stanford did when they beat USC years back.
I remember when Holyfield was a 44 to 1 dog to Tyson. I was flying in to watch the fight that morning. My flight got delayed by a few hours and by the time I got there the line went to 16 to 1. About an hour later it went down to 10 to 1 and was 8 to 1 at fight time. I saw so many people cash thousands of dollars at Ceasar's after it was unreal. I've never seen that much money counted ever. The lines were long and nothing but cnotes everywhere. Boy what a night.
Yeah thats nuts, that's probably why a lot of books don't offer it just in case a bunch of money starts flocking in on a huge dog. Got to worry about guys throwing fights or matches especially in boxing/tennis as well.

Not quite, but Virginia was now on the short end of probably the two biggest basketball upsets in history, albeit 36 years apart.

I mean they give Lakerboy credit all the time for hitting a +300 one out of 4 or 5 times, which isn't a winning proposition, but somehow many don't understand that. No offense laker.

This county college knocked off an elite ACC power.
Yeah, this is USA hockey in 1980 all over again,
Chaminade was a Division III team that beat a legit #1 team when Virginia had Ralph Sampson. It wasn't post-season mind you but still a bigger upset.

Now that UMBC has beaten up the #1 seeded team in the NCAA tourney, can bookmakers finally offer lines on America East regular season basketball games next season? I think they've now earned the right to go on the big board nightly and not just on the conference tourney games.

You can bet on teams like that though in tournaments though sometimes. I thought it was some kind of conference agreement type thing but it could be a significance type thing.

id like to know why books don't offer lines for that conference i mean they offer for little league baseball and high school football they can't put lines up for that conference what's the reason

There's a good number of conferences (10 or so?) in hoops that don't have their conference or non-conference games lined. Unless they play a power conference opponent. Even then, not all those games have lines.

UMBC's historic win over No. 1 Virginia was the second-largest upset by point-spread standards since the NCAA tournament field expanded in 1985.

Streamed the first half, mostly as background noise. Despite UMBC keeping it close, I figured it was another Penn/Kansas deal. Was waiting for VA to finally step up and try...then once the 2nd half started UNBC was making everything. That Lyles kid was red hot (Devon Hall was garbage).
