Interesting how it didn't happen at all from 1927-1967 and then it seemed to occur much more frequently.

There are some good reasons why it has become a more frequent occurrence. Start with the fact there were only 16 teams up until 1961 and the rosters weren't as large most of that time. So you had less than 180 pitchers at any given time in the majors. Nowadays there are roughly twice that many. There also wasn't any draft until the 1960s; teams went out and just signed the players they wanted and that led to brothers playing together instead of opposing each other.
