Now, I'm not gonna say that in my younger, more foolish days, that we didn't microwave things that obviously shouldn't be microwaved for "shits and giggles." The big difference though, is that even at the tender age of 15 when my friends and I found it to be worthy entertainment, we had the presence of mind to buy our "microwave of death" at the Thrift Store and not brand new at Wal-mart. Thus we spent only $5 on our entertainment as opposed to ruining a perfectly good, new microwave valued at ten times that amount.

Also, we didn't microwave batteries, because in California they teach you early that the Earth is a pretty delicate planet, and the stuff inside batteries is not very eco-friendly. You can get just as much entertainment and "schoolgirl giggles" (note the soundtrack when the door is opened and the fumes ignite in the presence of fresh oxygen) by microwaving a fork or a transistor radio sans batteries without exposing lithium, nickel or cadmium to the environment.

This video is really disappointing. The fact that a 25 year old would make this his Friday night activity, and then wish to broadcast it on the Internet...what is our society coming to?
