I would like a place located downtown but as far away from buzzy as possible - where should I be looking?

#5Toronto is the gay capital of Canada. Maybe even of North America. Maybe even of the world.
You don't want to live there. If you do live there, deny it.Comment -

If you want to avoid accidentally running into him don't move close to the Kensington Market area.
If you are looking for an upscale place I'd recommend either Liberty Village or The Esplanade.
You are welcome (for the information - not to the city itself).Comment -

#11Originally posted by lakerboyNice try but its San Francisco
From an official TO site:
Church/Wellesley - Toronto's Queer district. Toronto rivals San Francisco as the gay capital of North America, and every July the Pride Festival and Parade weekend draws tourists from all over the world as the streets fill with proud homosexuals (and others enjoying the party).

If I were to live anywhere near downtown I'd live close to a subway line. The Subway runs til 1:30 AM or so and then 24 hour buses cover the line until it restarts around 5:45 AM.
Transit here is vastly superior to Calgary's, take advantage of it as traffic is much worse than what you are used to in Cowtown.Comment -

I bet when you go to ball games you sit in your designated seats instead of buying nosebleed tix and duking the security loser behind home plate.
I bet you only put out as many garbage bags of trash on your driveway as the city permits instead of putting old couches and tvs and shit like i do by just giving the dumptruck driver a hot tip on a game.
