    Looking for apartment in Toronto
I would like a place located downtown but as far away from buzzy as possible - where should I be looking?

Toronto is the gay capital of Canada. Maybe even of North America. Maybe even of the world.

You don't want to live there. If you do live there, deny it.

Compaq Dikk says he knows of a place but he requires you Paypal a $1000 finders fee.

Buzzy is 60 miles away in Hamilton (a different city from Toronto).

If you want to avoid accidentally running into him don't move close to the Kensington Market area.

If you are looking for an upscale place I'd recommend either Liberty Village or The Esplanade.

You are welcome (for the information - not to the city itself).

And you must be a Torontonian.

                      From an official TO site:

Church/Wellesley - Toronto's Queer district. Toronto rivals San Francisco as the gay capital of North America, and every July the Pride Festival and Parade weekend draws tourists from all over the world as the streets fill with proud homosexuals (and others enjoying the party).

Yes, Mathy, no doubt......but this description of Toronto goes above and beyond. "Rivals San Fran".

There aren't very many apt bldgs in that area (College - between Spadina and University Ave.) mostly older homes, not a bad area though.

If I were to live anywhere near downtown I'd live close to a subway line. The Subway runs til 1:30 AM or so and then 24 hour buses cover the line until it restarts around 5:45 AM.

Transit here is vastly superior to Calgary's, take advantage of it as traffic is much worse than what you are used to in Cowtown.

So the homage you pay to the loser in your avatar is purely non-sexual?

mike, he is more of a mentor, i have learnt an unreal amount of lessons from the guy

I bet when you go to ball games you sit in your designated seats instead of buying nosebleed tix and duking the security loser behind home plate.

I bet you only put out as many garbage bags of trash on your driveway as the city permits instead of putting old couches and tvs and shit like i do by just giving the dumptruck driver a hot tip on a game.

Money and gambling get you everywhere in life

There are a few nice lowrise buildings just north of bloor located on or near St George, not cheap but decent and a great location. I can also confirm that they currently have vacancies as I was there a few days ago. Also some relatively nice basement apartments located in a number of the large older homes in the area. Now is a good time to be looking in the area since students are moving out.
