#42it's nice and the pokerroom is comfortable, spacious and close to the sportsbookOriginally posted by reigle9place looks nice, i was planning on staying there or trump when i thought i'd have someone to come with me
prob try to stay there next trip for at least a few days
it's a local casino so the vibe is much more mellow than the strip or downtown
might be better to just play poker one day there and stay where there's more actionComment -

#44I'm also a former resident of Vegas. Like any city, it has it's good parts and bad parts of town. It's a very "transient" town meaning a lot of drifters and homeless people along the strip and downtown. It has a lot of crime obviously because of the drug dealing, prostitution and tourism (people carrying large mounts of cash on them). It also has the highest car jacking rate in the nation (by far) because of the tourists carrying cash and driving parts of town that are unknown to them or late at night.
Knowing what I know if I were to suggest a place to stay for a weekend or longer that is way from most if not all of that is the Red Rock or J.W Marriot in Northwest Las Vegas (About 20 minutes from the strip). Golf courses, eating establishments, theaters, casino's, sportsbooks, shopping, you name it. They'll shuttle you anywhere you want to go so you don't have to drive, even if you want to go down to the strip or downtown for a bit (not recommended).
You shouldn't have any problems and have a great time.Comment -

Casinos on strip have had robbery attempts for as long as I can remember. They are just putting it on the news more often now.
