Mandalay Bay sportsbook right now (8:25 pm PT) ... Maybe there are consequences to treating bettors badly.Comment -

#4I went betting there, for one day, once, about a year and a half ago.
They told me that I need to bet at least $300 for a drink ticket.
However, I bet some horses, and the waitress gave me some free bud lights, for a few wagers that costed less than 10 bucks.
So, my opinion of Mandaklay Bay-"Meh."(not worth going to)
RJ tweeted this out and it left some of us puzzled-why? Specifically, why Mandalay Bay?
He says treating bettors badly has consequences.
Reasons I'm not sure:
pay to park
weak rewards plan
weak drink comps
just not too sure
Since I live here, I go to he Stations
Free parking
Comp top shelf drinks when betting horses, rewards progam
20 bucks a wager per free drink tickets
Great views of the gamesComment -

He does sound a bit fake on the radio. A good interview though.
Mandalay Bay's entire casino is an after-thought. It's just kinda there.

#8I'm no Vegas expert at all... but I don't see what the problem is.
Bent out of shape about drink coupons? Well it is my understanding that each sportsbook has some policy... sure some are better than others I suppose. If your goal is to find the place that will give you the best booze:bets ratio... okay go for it. Sounds like a losers objective.
Pay for parking? Once again it is my understanding that all the big casinos on the strip now charge for parking. I could be wrong.
If and when I get to Vegas it would be my objective to be in the sportsbook in which I can get a waitress NOW when I want a drink, and the windows that are clear so I can get my wager in with 0:38 before tip-off. Crowded casino? No thanks.
You guys seem to be bitching about all the wrong things... but that is what makes this industry good with competition, something for everybodyComment -

#11Usually in Vegas it’s $50 for a drink ticket st the sportsbook...
Last time I went and put $300 down on the thunder they gave me six frees drink tickets. Maybe the guy was new...

I'd say that I'm pretty ez to please. Give me a game + a sports-betting window...hard for me to not be happy. But there are pros + cons for sure.
Personally, I'd rate South Point as my favorite. You want to know some of the minor points that attract me? Wide board that includes a lot of games, good clerks (who appreciate a tip), some light eating options w/in 50yards of sp'book (deli + hot dogs).Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#15I spend a good bit of time at Stations. Namely, Pal Station + Red Rock, a little at Boulder Station. Palace Station known as a local joint, some consider it a dump, I don't mind it.
Red Rock very nice, too. Red Rock cocktail waitresses...ooh-la-la. One negative re: Red Rock, their board is too small. They have the 3x rotating board, wish they used more board space.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

rotating screens and microscopic lettering big part of this
then you have to deal with the ticket writers who imo are quite possibly the laziest group of people on the planetComment -

#18CW...I sense pessimism in your post. Why would I let them confuse me? I have seen them keep a clock that is not precise. IE, can miss tip-time if u follow that clock.

Sports- I like Santa Fe
Pros: 20 bucks gets a drink ticket, service is decent
Big screens, in game wagering.
You can change one of those mini TV's to an obscure game you want to watch
But if you bet horses, you'll drink for free till you blackout
Cons:
Ratchet traffic
In the middle of nowhere Northern Las Vegas
I like Red Rock. Its just a much nicer part of Vegas.
Recommend this for tourists
Sportsbook is a little more crowded than I usually like, but I think its decent to watch sports
Ratchet traffic has been increasing, lately
I do Texas, a lot more than I should
But, It's in the middle of the ghetto-major ratchet traffic-don't recommend for tourists
They made some minor upgrades, recently, that make watching sports an improvementComment -
