Anyone ever think about quitting work after a good betting day?
I have contemplated it at least 10 times but then I come back to reality the next day when I go 2-6 and am so very grateful I still have a job

Nah worst thing you can do, I see so many guys pick a few winners have a few winning days and before you know it they think they are good and can do it for a living.
Gambling should only be a recreational activity, if you want to make money you have to go to work.

I totally agree JJ but it is so hard to not want to do it full time and think that because all of the extra time you will put in you will be that much better at picking winners...

Oh yeah. But then I remember that without some kind of meaningful productivity a small, but important, part of my soul shrivels.
Purposfulness is as important as air, food, water (but not beer).

My Sophomore year of college I deposited $500 into "www.betmaker.com" they have since been bought out. I took a 50% cash bonus, and turned it into over $6k in 1 month betting only college hoops. I cashed out western union at the grocery store and got paid out in 20's 10's and 5's, one of my best gambling times ever. I did get a 2.3 that semester though...

Putting in extra time does not equate to being a winner in sports betting.

It's much easier to get the good numbers now because instead of being in a meeting I can now watch the screen instead. Much more time to research games. I middled a game for a big score a week ago and that has been the high point so far. Now is kinda of the off season for me trying to beat the smaller soccer leagues and WNBA until football.

I would love to do this for a living, but until I have the bankroll, its working for someone else.

Not really. I have no wife and kids so I can only hurt myself. If I go bust then so be it. I gotta a decent bankroll so I can go quit a while as long as I don't pull a Brock Landers. Work hard on researching games and bet them early getting the best number and no way can you lose long term. Avoid betting the popular shit like NFL, NBA and MLB, these leagues are almost impossible to beat long term.

I agree... MLB is my favorite and usually best and then comes college hoops and football. I reduce my unit bets to half of what they are normally when it is NFL season because I usually get my nuts kicked in every weekend after doing really well all week with college football.
I have gotten really close but I think once I start my own business and am done working for the man I think it will be easier...

i have a business my friend. gambling is for fun thats why i say i started from scratch 2 years ago. you can start from scratch but you need nerves of steel and nba refs on your side. when you have info on games in nba on totals you can put big bucks on parlay with 2 sides and the right total on the same game. i do it all the time. for example you put 3k on knicks and under and 3k on warriors and under on the same game how much do you make= 4.8k right. i did that all year this season granted i started at 5units but once you win a little you play smart. nothing is easier than nba totals trust me nothing

Hmm, so lakerboy, your basically take both sides for a game Ex. Knicks -3 Warriors +3 then an under in 2 seperate parlays
NYK-3
Under 198
Warriors +3
Under 198
Am I doing this correct? I don't watch much NBA. But I definitely can start. I mostly bet MLB and NFL but I am around a break even bettor

Would probably work even better in the WNBA cause of the soft lines. At least that is what I hear

Well im not saying that you're lying here, but just saying that you are the proof is anything but proof that it can be done. If you say "I am proof" you should probably have something to back up your claim. Many if not most people who post like people to believe that they are better than they actually are, not calling you out just saying it might be a poor choice of words without backup.

If with religion you mean belief system, your belief system is your religion. Again, it matters not what it is. You believe in it, you are loyal to it, would defend it, and yet have no proof of it, other than that, at one point or another, you chose to believe in it. Self-hypnosis. What if there were a snapping of fingers that broke the hypnosis?

Laying -125 on a total for no apparent reason other than stupidity. Gotta love Player's Talk.

Well u can quit just if you are lone perosn... Otherwise earlier or later it will have an effect on somebody close to u. Idont say that you will go broke, but even if u have huge bankroll and make lets say 10% loss your personal bahaviour will start getting effect on somebody close to u...

I have been hot all year... i am up but everytime I get to the high point of my account i suffer a few losses...
Last week was at a high point and lost a 4 game chase with cards/rockies... Working my way back up for third straight time.. No I would guess most of us should keep our jobs no matter what the record shows...

fair enough theres no proof on this forum thats how i did it. i shouldnt have said that but thats how i do it. im sure some people have tried this but i know i do it and when i got lucky in the beginning i carried on- the nba playoffs this season was a joke for totals- by the way i rarely play the overs. the last game of the finals i played over and got burned. by the way you can even play 3 out of 4 combos and take 1 over with 1 of the teams

i almost dropped out of school last semister. From september 2008- start of november 2008 i had made 2k betting football and 6k playing poker at foxwoods casino 3x a week. I was pretty much a high roller, i bought new rims for my beamer, paid off the final 5k that was left on my car and i went to the bar and was dropping 100+ 4x a week. Then i hit a little cold streak at the casino lost like 1,500 then lost about 700 on football/basketball and here I am now with no money left from my great run and I have no job. Im glad my car is paid off but im pretty broke and just pissed i had horrible money management

Thats the ups and downs of gambling... I will never forget 2 years ago when Va Tech scored a meaningless touchdown on a fumble and I hit a 4 team parlay, a 3 team teaser, the over AND Va Tech... When it ALL would've been losses... I won like $2,800 I think off that game alone and I thought I was on top of the world. Took 6 of my boys out to dinner, rocked out with whores at the bar and partied for a couple days then next thing I know almost all of it was gone...
I LOVE GAMBLING!!!
