I don't understand this either. USA women have never beat Canada in the gold medal game and they didn't look like they were going to in the prelim meeting. Feel like it is easy money on Canada, but olympic hockey is idiotic, almost like Sweden not starting Jonas Hillar this morning against Germany when he started all the others and let up maybe 2 goals total.

As huge favourites, Angelito doesn't expect either will have trouble winning in regulation but as black beers eluded to, Olympics can be a little sketchy and a pulled goalie or significant injury could change everything.

As long as OAR doesn't overlook the Germans like the Canucks did, they should take the gold. But nothing would surprise me with the Deutche at this point. Amazing recent history in the Olympics - No wins in 5 games in 2006, No wins in 4 games in 2010, did not even qualify in 2014... Unreal, who saw this coming even without the NHLers...

I've bet +115 -2.5 for my max bet. OAR wins this by 5. The semi final was Germany's final. Winning silver already exceeds their expectations. OAR's offence is purring and Germany will do well to score a goal. Also the Germans have spent a lot more time on the ice in tense matches. Everything favours a Russian athletes blow out.

I'm a bit worried that Canada are going to be more desperate for that bronze medal than the Czechs.

In the 2nd intermission Chris Kelley was being interviewed and when asked if the Canadians had overlooked or had not been ready for the Germans he said, " no, not at all.They just work really really hard". Basically , it wasn't a fluke the Germans beat the swiss, it wasnt a fluke the germans beat the Swedes, and if that wasn't enough, Chris kelley is telling you that it wasn't a fluke the Germans beat Canada lol.

Ha, what do expect Chris Kelley to say - "We overlooked them and weren't ready"... Of course he's going to deny that! The 3rd period proved my point - Canada played hard and dominated. They controlled play and number of shots, but they were too far behind. If they play best of 7 Canada takes the series 4-1. 2 lackluster periods cost them an appearance in the finals.
