Roy Jones Jr vs Anderson Silva boxing match...
Have you guys heard about this potential fight? It's apparently a real possibility - Jones v Silva in a boxing ring with boxing gloves and boxing rules.

I'm as big an MMA fan as anyone, but if this really goes down I think Jones knocks him out in the 1st. This would be a complete mismatch under those rules. I think Silva is crazy to even consider it.

Any boxer (within Silva's weight or above) would win in boxing rules. Even Tyson would knock his ass out. If Silva could take them to the ground then it'd be a different story. But if you're just going to be throwing punches then Silva stands no chance.

MMA sucks - too. Occasionally there'll be a decent fight on but the rest is rather rubbish. Boxing is the real sport -- the sweet science.

If Silva could at least elbow, kick and throw knees I'd give him a shot. But straight boxing? He's out of his mind if he thinks he can trade jabs and hooks with Roy.

I don't see this fight happening. At some point Silva will realize how insane this idea is.

Now if RJJ has to fight with one arm literally tied behind his back, then maybe...

          I'd rather see Pac-man V. Jones and/or Cung Le V. Silva.

If you havent heard of Cung Le - google him up.

I disagree. I think Silva holds his own and wins. You dont think that guy has pro boxing hands? What are your nuts? Roy Jones in his prime he prob couldnt beat. but the roy jones now?? I dont think Roy would even take him on with boxing rules!!

Following his win over Dan Henderson, in an interview with MMA Weekly, Anderson Silva's manager stated: "Anderson would love to fight Roy Jones Jr. in a boxing match up under boxing rules to prove that MMA fighters are technical, too."[35] UFC president, Dana White, later expressed that he would use his veto power to stop such a match from taking place.[36] Anderson, however, has commented: "After my contract with the UFC is finished, I will set up the fight with Jones Jr. The fight has already been permitted by Jones himself." In April 2009, Jones himself confirmed he is still interested in fighting Silva: "I'm going to try and make it happen. He's saying he wants to fight me, so, OK, I'm ready. Let's brawl.".

Anderson will beat the shit out of him. you guys are dreaming.

Anderson Silva isn't a world class boxer. Why do you think Dana White won't allow it? He knows Silva would get ****ed up. 2 different sports.

In the streets, Silvia would whip RJJ's ass. In the ring, only using gloves, is a different story.

There was a line on this fight about a year ago at bodog for if the fight happened. Jones opened a 30-1 favorite. Jones is a guy who has trained boxing his whole life. Silva boxed officially 2 times with 1 win and 1 loss while being KO'ed by a bum as well. Silva is well rounded and good because of knees, kicks and he is good on the ground. He is a good boxer but not compared to a real boxer. Anderson would still be a HUGE underdog.
