    More than Stats
I keep reading everyone write so much about the ML and spread stats. The where and how of the probabilities that go along with buying a 1/2 point when the spread hits a certain number. this is good statical information but at the same time I am troubled by it

I know this is a numbers game. Understanding the stats are what makes winning a majority of the time possible, but I would really like to start seeing more ideas based on individual player performance and specific team analysis. Straying too far from the nuts and bolts of the game into stats that don't account for human psychology or fatigue can lead to mathematical hubris.

I love stats and need to know them but I really want this forum to use its power to uncover inside information or local fan analysis of these games. Think of the asset a cub fan in Chicago could be to someone laying large units on the game in Houston with the ability to let them know the demeanor of the locker room that only local news reports, or the storyline of a player struggling with issues outside of the game. We could bust the spread without having to buy any points.
