sad to say I was on the wrong end of this one too... not sure which stung more.. Fast forward to 9:15 mark... Knicks +12.5

I had one of the worst beats of my life like that about 13 years ago. Imagine that same situation. I had like 2Gs on a meaningless weekday game (which was my first mistake). The Cav's had the ball and the line was -9. They were up 11 with the ball and like 2 seconds left. Game over. They inbound the pass to Big Z, the other team (I can't even remember the other team today) player pushes Z out of bounds. He throws the ball in bounds as he was falling into the front row seats. Refs don't call a foul because the game is over. The ball is passed into the opponents hands and he heaves a 70 foot shot that goes in. I lose my ass on a wtf play. Why was the other team fouling down double digits? Why didn't the refs call the foul? Why would the player jack up a low percentage 3 at the end of the game that could only hurt his shooting percentage? I cried rig but it was just dumb bad luck.

b] Throwing the game, being the whipping boy for the rest of NFL history by making sure the game went over the total

Did you see how fast Williams ran up to try and blow up the play? He looked like he was shot out of a cannon. That pass was on the money. In the right spot. Diggs could have gotten out of bounds to setup the FG kick. Williams came up so fast because in one instance he wanted to blow him up so he don't get out of bounds but he can't hit him early either. Perfect play, perfect timing, tough play for a guy that has been solid all year. Ducked his head because he was expecting a huge hit and he whiffed.

Anyone played safety before knows the gut wrenching feeling when you know you're the last line of defense and the guy get's by you.

Anyone who watches the replay over again and doesn't come to this conclusion is a moron. Williams was FLYING to the ball. Just one of those crazy plays that happen, well, hardly ever. Everything happened in the blink of an eye to have it play out the way it did.

They could script that the entire week, get the two teams together to practice it over and over again, and it wouldn't play out that way in real time maybe more than once or twice in 100 tries.

And yet conspiracy nuts are insisting that the two teams played out 59 minutes and 54 seconds of football so that this final "rigged" play could have the Vikings win it by five.

Unreal how emotion gets in the way of common sense with some.

Bill Buckner was playing infield before he could walk. He whiffed a routine ground ball. People back then thought he was on the take. BULLSHIT. That one play right or wrong, defined Buckner the rest of his life. NO ONE would ever sign up for that. How much money would it take for Buckner or Williams to take a dive like that? Please name me a dollar figure? $1 million? $10 million? $100 million? Then ask yourself if you would ever take it? Then ask yourself if you or anyone including mobsters would ever pay someone $100 million to take the dive? Then you have to hope that it comes down to 1 play and that he dives at the right time. This is tied with the worst gambling beat I've ever taken in my 20 years of betting sports, horses and casino games. Not in terms of money lost. But the way I lost (had saints ml).

The other I speak of is back in Nov 2004 had clippers -3 at Chicago, clips up 4 and magette goes 1 for 2 at the line to make it 5 with 6 seconds. Honorable mention had $100 exacta with a 1-9 favorite on top in a harness race in Ohio and there was a klennex or napkin on the track and when the horse saw it, it spooked it and made it jump off stride. Also bet on a horse that was up by 20 lengths on a half mile track at northville Downs in Michigan. On the first turn one of the pigs in the back hit a pylon and it was laying in the middle of the track. The funny thing is if he actually hit him the way he jumped it would have been a penalty for hitting a defenseless receiver and the Vikings would have kicked a FG for the win. All he has to do is slow down and wrap him up.
