Williams was worried about interfering. Gave him too much cushion. Then tried to close + make a hit.

After watching a few more replays he was covering him way too close and couldn't adjust in time so instead of running into Diggs he took a dive. Not sure refs call PI if he hits him as the ball is getting there.

Because the game was over. It is poor etiquette in football, just like basketball to score once the game is decided. You go for 2 and the other team goes for Keenums knees.

I'm not sure if he would have been able to tackle him in bounds because if Diggs momentum was taking him out, he probably would have been able to make it. But you can't just put your head down and dive at a guy's legs and come up with air.

Seen it several times, always in this situation with team scoring TD on last play of game to win. PAT is meaningless so winning team does not want to rub it in.

Didn't it happen in the Pat's/Steelers game a few weeks ago? I've seen it at least 2 times this year. I've also seen the Bronco's return an XP for 2 points against the Saint's, last year or year before. They won the game on it. The game was already over, so you don't kick the XP or run a 2pt conversion. The opposing team is already pissed and you try and run up the score and they are going for someone's knees.

yes thats what i think. saints in the t.o. were telling the players no P.I. calls no matter what. no penalties after a catch so he went for the perfect low form tackle and looked stupid

Total at 45-46.5 at lots of shops most the week. At 24-23 the over had already hit. Was the rig in for the over 47?

Exactly... When that ball is up in the air, it is very difficult to judge it and the receiver. Then the next thing you know, you over run the play and out of position. Adrenaline is flowing high in that moment, it is hard to be focused. Coaching should have told them in that moment to stand on the goal line and let them catch the ball but for some reason they thought the Vikings had enough time to get out of bounds, so they were playing press coverage on the corners. They were in outside zone pressing everything inside where a catch wins you the game but they attack the sidelines like they should and got lucky as shit.

Did you see how fast Williams ran up to try and blow up the play? He looked like he was shot out of a cannon. That pass was on the money. In the right spot. Diggs could have gotten out of bounds to setup the FG kick. Williams came up so fast because in one instance he wanted to blow him up so he don't get out of bounds but he can't hit him early either. Perfect play, perfect timing, tough play for a guy that has been solid all year. Ducked his head because he was expecting a huge hit and he whiffed.

Anyone played safety before knows the gut wrenching feeling when you know you're the last line of defense and the guy get's by you.
