Who knows but this is a very good observation JJ. You are a sharpy if I have ever seen one. May Christ be with you and in your soul for eternity.

That's why you can't give a looooooooooooooooooong term deal to even the best pitcher. You just never know how long their arms will hold up

Mets are sure worrying, but I doubt Santana is. I mean, I know he has pride and all of that, but those checks will still come regardless

At the end of the day, these guys are set financially and it is just a game.

His velocity is way down this year

Crazy but he could be done

its not that he's so bad.. it's just that he's overpriced. if you had been betting against Santana for the last few years, you'd be up sooooooooo much...

                squares love santana..

He was still lights-out just 30 days ago. Yeah if I were Mets' management, I would have him take a few weeks off even if he isn't injured, just to chill out, rest, make sure his mechanics are ok. I think if he did that he would come back and go 10-0. If they keep sending him out every 5 days, I think we're going to see a lot more of those 6 IP/ 3 ER starts from him.

actually that's not really true. Here are the P/L numbers in the games Santana has started over the past few years:

                    2008 - 22-12 +4.5 units
                    2007 - 17-16 -10.6 units
                    2006 - 27-7 +16.7 units (#1 overall in the majors)
                    2005 - 24-9 +7.9 units

07 was a clunker, but still, hardly auto-fade material

HG - please don't let facts get in the way of Nicky's tall tales.

The velocity on his on the ball is gone which is becoming a major concern, he is not young either.
