athlete spotted at the borgata last night
richard hamilton- playing 2-5 nl holddem. max buy in was 500. just seems weird to see a guy making that much money playing such relatively small stakes. i was thinking of switching to his table just for the hell of it but was on a decent run where i was so stayed put.

Maybe he doesn't know the game that well. I've seen plenty of famous people in Vegas play at relatively small stakes. It's not that crazy to see athletes not want to lose all their money to a game they don't know as well as others. lol

Good point, plus athletes are prob like other rich people- Greedy bastards and wanna spend as little as possible.

Can't stay rich if you are just throwing your money away!

i got no problem with it, it just seemed funny to see an nba star with bling and a posse and all, playing small stakes. people at my table told me his friend was an awful player, no word on how rip played. imagine if rip hit the bad beat jackpot. now then i would be pissed...........

I remember I saw Edjerrin James at a casino here -- it was around the time he was traded to the Cardinals. He went and signed up for 8-16 LIMIT hold 'em. Pretty small stakes for such a rich guy, but like I said, I doubt a lot of them know the game that well, where they would feel comfortable putting a lot of money in stake.
