That was a component, but there is cheap labor in North Korea, Cuba, Vietnam, Venezuela, etc now, there was cheap labor all around the world at the time that Singapore and Hong Kong were industrializing, but most of those places had little economic freedom to attract investment dollars from around the world and as a result the economy stagnated, in some places regressed. Why do you think people were investing so much in Hong Kong and Singapore but weren't investing the same way in India until more recently? India would have had cheaper labor and more natural resources. China now has huge advantages that the US didn't have at their current stage of growth, like modern technology, and there wasn't a first world by today's standards that could invest in America the way current first world nations can now invest in China and other developing regions.

Income tax and regulations, like labor costs, are part of the costs of investing and running a business. Eliminating regulatory and tax costs will allow us to undercut Mexico and China, which will bring those jobs and investment dollars not just from Mexico and China, but around the world. 21% is better than 35%, but I'm still in favor of 0% and eliminating corporate welfare to offset the costs.

I'm not against a government when dealing with market failures, like pollution, I don't know how we could privatize the military to defend a country this size or reclaim land.

I think privatizing smaller things like a police force would be good. One of the main causes of inequality is the government. Go to a Walmart, Target, CVS, McDonald's, Dominos pizza, etc in a wealthy area and compare it to one of those stores in a poor area. You'll see the exact same products at the exact prices in similar quantity. Compare the public schools the poor kids go to vs the public schools the rich go to. Compare the police protection the poor get vs what the rich get. Before you tell me about how that disparity is caused by how the taxes are collected and distributed, lets keep in mind that not all business locations are equally profitable and have to send money from more successful branches to less successful branches.

I don’t know all the numbers, but I agree that lower Corp taxes have been needed, along with closing loopholes, inversions, etc.
Tax cuts are good, but the current ones aren’t being paid for. They are increasing the deficit.
