Yeah Blitty, you hit the nail on the head. The forum is devoid of personality, there's no salacious drama to catch up on. This place used to be like a soap opera, even though the characters were stale, you tuned in everyday just to catch up on the latest gossip. Now they've pushed away any attempts at inter-poster drama, so unless you want to get a fade on a play, what's the point of coming here anymore?

When things were that way, we saw the same "Players Talk sucks!" threads.

'Too much drama- this isn't junior high!' 'Not enough sports!' 'Too much sports, place is dry!' 'Not enough contest money being given away', 'Too many contests it's flooding forum!'

I think what we can draw from that is, no matter how the forum is, some peoples feathers are gonna be ruffled. The thing that's always been great about the forum is, posters are free to share their opinions on just about anything without censorship.

I don't think the SBR people need to be defensive. To my way of thinking, it is not that SBR is doing something wrong. I don't think anyone is doing anything wrong.

It's just a reality of a public forum that sometimes members of the public are going to be that unfortunate combination: uninteresting and talkative.

At least that's my take on how Players Talk has gone to shit. Maybe other people are agreeing for totally different reasons. But I don't see it as a case of feathers being ruffled. Basically the opposite. It's just been a big uptick lately in the spammish, low-IQ, yawn material.

It'll be good again...not sure how it was before. But I am among the latest crop of SBR newbies and a few of us have been PowerPosting like crazy.

And if you have been around, there was plenty of drama the last couple days. Me vs Mathy (which was resolved) and KingRevolver [pimpslapping] everyone!!!

"Power Posting" has a stigma and implication that you're posting "quick" replies about nothing just to boost your post number, which I actually find to be humorous and stupid. I like to post 'cause I like to gamble and talk about it or any thing else anyone may want to talk about. The number of posts is irrelevant to me. I may have a high number of posts for the relatively small amount of time I've been here but my posts aren't filler and I have plenty to say.
