If you understand anything about futures trading will not be heavy because you need too much money to trade it, many firms early on are not offering it because too much risk

No average Joe will be doing it

Bitcoin futures trading in the U.S. starts this Sunday

Chicago-based Cboe Global Markets will kick off bitcoin futures trading in the U.S. on Sunday, Dec. 10, with fellow Windy City-based CME Group following suit on Monday, Dec. 18. The Nasdaq, owned by Nasdaq Inc., is planning to offer bitcoin futures in early 2018, according to reports from several outlets. The NYSE, owned by Intercontinental Exchange, is taking a "wait-and-see approach" regarding bitcoin futures, CEO Jeff Sprecher was recently quoted by Market Watch as saying.

The exchange will be waiving all of its transaction fees for XBT futures during December -

The reason why Bitcoin is so famous and the alt coins doesn't get as much value as because Bitcoin is sponsored by famous millionaires and billionaires like Bill Gates, Richard Branson, John McaFee and the twins that help create Facebook.

You would think Bitcoin clones would take over. But Bitcoin has the hype, popularity, sponsors and merchants behind it. Better at this than any other Crypto at the moment.

There's superior coins out there. Litecoin transactions are nearly instant and pennies in fees. However, people will gravitate to the brand name like say Nike vs. New Balance, and Bitcoin has support behind it like GunShard noted.
