Late errors that blew games up too. For example, Nationals and Marlins.

Betting against the trend in baseball will make one go broke.

In many cases, yes. Like insurance in blackjack. Few instances where there is value, usually its just psychological to avoid laying a heavy price.

I was betting the following system - Bet on the run line for the favorite and the money line for the underdog in the same game. For example, Indians vs. Royals, Indians are the favorite; $100 on Indians (-1.5) to win $150 vs. $100 on Royals (ML) to win $128. The only way to lose, in total, is if Indians win by only 1 run. If you bet $100 on each side, usually you would win between $20 - $50 per game. First 4 days I did this I was up $600 with only one double loser (lose $200 if favorite wins by 1 run). I was already counting my winnings through the rest of the season. Well, I had a stretch of double losers and ended up down $400 within the next 3 days so I stopped using the system. Glad I stopped and I didn't use it last night as that would have wiped me clean.
