Breaking: Michael Porter Jr. Likely Out for Season
The best player in college basketball has played his last college ball before the season even really began.

Mizzou said he will have back surgery and is likely done for the season, meaning likely done for college as he will (was) looking like a top 3 lottery pick in the next NBA Draft.

Damn... I was looking forward to watching this kid ball out alongside his younger brother. I thought Porter would break the streak of the top player failing to get his team into the big dance (LSU, Wash last 2 seasons)

Hard to be the best player when you haven't hardly played any games. I am sick of these one and dones that everyone talks so much about. Like Simmons, the kid was not that great, and still people were standing in line to jerk him off.

He looks pretty damn good in the NBA. Kid had no talent around him at lsu.

I mean the kids averaging 19/8/9 this season in the NBA so pretty hard to say he's not that great. He obviously has tremendous talent. He played a different position and had an awful coach in college though.

Probably does, most college teams play better defense than any NBA team. I don't even know how anyone even says the word defense when talking about the NBA.

You are right, the defense is amazing in the NBA. I remember nba totals being 192, now they are 215 on damn near every game.

NCAA has longer shot clock, less time in game, lot of scrubs coming off the bench who can't score. Simmons the exception not the rule, you generally don't see guys score more at NBA level. Tons of great college players/scorers either bench players in NBA or don't even have jobs.

Should have stayed at Washington, but got paid to go to Mizzou. I can't feel bad. He gets a vacation, and goes top 5.

Does anyone actually watch the NBA? They play defense. It's just a shooters game. You can't block every shot. Especially multiple three pointers.

As a UW fan, I'm okay with this. I hope he has a healthy recovery and does well in the NBA, but I didn't want to see our prize get away and take Mizzou far in the tourney.

So true. In Porter's case, his dad is an assistant coach and I think his younger brother is also on the team.

That might have had something to do with it.

Anyone know, did he get hurt during a game?

                                                  What happened?

                                                  Also...

Multiple NBA GM's have told me that, as long as Michael Porter Jr.'s back checks out come June, still likely a top 5 overall pick.

Look around , sports is on a scoring roll .
CBB , NHL , NBA seems like it's highest they've been in awhile.

I'm amazed the totals in these CBB games , Vegas has to be getting killed with majority of public being favorite and over bettors .
