the under looks to be the play using statistics
3.22 pit
3.60 det
GA
2.91 pit
2.98 det
The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Pittsburgh's last 8 games when playing on the road against Detroit

I like the under.. It's either going to be a 2-1 3-2 type of game or the Wings blow em out. I like the chances on a close low scoring game 7 for the cup.

But...Im playing -1.5
Only cause, I believe Detroit comes out on home ice, and pounds the pens back to the igloo. They will proive to there fans and to the NHL, why they are the real winners of the stanley cup back to back years. I still believe Crosby and Malkin choke big time, leaving there team hopeless....
i can see a lot of goals, could see a few..But lou...I cant play the over under in this one. Fleury is a bad goalie in Detroit, But he might find a way to over come it....
i could see a 3-1, 2-0, 4-1 victory for the Wings......
If there was a way I could see him on the ice before the game and see how confident he looks, i could give you a positive answer...as of now.....UNDER(but i dont suggest playing it personally pal)
are you trying to PARLAY it with the lakers game tonight???

I'm not a hockey caper, but have done some research in hopes of finding an edge. Thought I'd pass on this little bit of info...
Game 7 April 23 1950 Detroit Red Wings 4 New York Rangers 3 (OT)
The first and only finals game 7 that went over 5.5 and it took an overtime...

I see a 1-1 game going into OT or a narrow 2-1 win for either team. I doubt teams will use any forwards in the 3rd period if the game is tied. They would build a fortress around the crease with 4 defenders guarding the goalie.

Thanks Flyers. This data supports your hunch on the under, and has no relevance to the year 1950 or the progression of Hockey. It simply means that no finals game 7 in recent history has gone over 5.5.
In the future I just won't post stuff like this when I hear it.

So many possibilities but you forgot that one team may be up by a couple of goals and then defence goes out the window.
For example, Detroit is leading 3-1 after 2 periods, Pitt will have to gamble with their defence by pinching in the offensive zone, this leads to odd man rushes the other way, plus empty net goals are a concern with a two goal lead as well.
I can't play a total with any confidence on this game, could go either way.

Razz,
Thanks to that historic fact I went ahead with an UNDER play. I was on the fence until I read that. If this cashes (and it will) much thanks.
