#5While it's not good news for poker sites, it's equally likely it's not good for offshore sports betting sites and those who promote them. Just when we thought it was safe. Might be a good time to make sure your current with your IRS payments boys. Seems like only a matter of time before the crackdown comes this way.....
I thought attitudes towards letting adults choose to do what they wish with there money was going to change when hope and change was elected but apparently not. So much for that...
If I owned SBR and lived in the U.S I would probably be consulting with my attorneys at this point in case the DOJ decides to get frisky. Call it sports journalism if you will but if the site is taking a piece of player losses in return for funneling them into certain books the DOJ might consider it rackettering. Might be good to have a game plan in place in case they come knockin'.
It's sad that adults have to be treated like big babies while Obama and his gang of criminals continue to shred the Constitution.
It's okay for the Fed to strong arm and threaten BofA CEO Ken lewis into buying Merill Lynch, which he knew were hiding billions in derivitives losses. It's just fine to screw senior bondholders of GM and Chrysler in favor of the campaign contribution king UAW. Any mortgage executives do the perp walk for commiting fraud on millions of mortgage apps for people who couldn't afford packs of gum never mind properties? Has anyone from Moodys or S & P been arrested for giving securites a AAA rating when in fact they were junk bonds?
The entire U.S government is nothing more than a crime family and it makes me sick.Comment -

#6Buddy of mine called me yesterday, has a small 4 figure sum tied up in this disaster. He's getting a little paranoid thinking the pigs will be getting a hold of his banking records. May be a little premature in the investigation to worry about that, what do you guys think........Comment -

#7Freezing funds is not new. The media is on this one because it is poker which is supposedly not included in the port bill. Because mainstream news is referring to it as "player funds" instead of "money allocated for payouts" it's causing a stir.Comment -

#9Great points JBC77, but I thought your views are felonies in the Connecticut and Massachusetts area where you live. I may cut and paste a couple of your points for other things if you don't mind.Comment -

#16Since the passage of the UIGEA, the USJD and any government entity looking for easy pickens when it comes to thieving from the American people does not need much of an excuse to violate all manner of Supreme and lesser law.
Stay out of the Federal Reserve Banking System, and any financial system associated with it, or your money is at risk as well.
Use e-wallets and overnight services to move your money.
Do not dick around with the IRS. Pay taxes on your winnings. Do not give them another excuse to grab your stuff.Comment -
