Mine is relation to the 1989 Fighting Illini's Basketball Team. I was there in Seattle in the final four and it was a great time. The days of Kendall Gill, Nick Anderson, Kenny Battle, Stephen Bardo, Marcus Liberty and the rest of the Flying Illini. One of the best College Teams ever assembled to never win a championship. They were nicknamed the "Flying Illini"

That is the easy answer. To fully answer the subject question about the meaning of the name, I would have to explain why my cat is named Mudcat - that is a bit more involved - but we'll just leave it.
