    Ploygraph testing
Does anyone know if they are for-real? I have been told my lawyers and cops that it is a scam to trick people and make them fail when they are innocent. I dont know if it is true or not, cause all lawyers are scammers and most cops are too.

Also if they are so perfect and 100% correct, WHY, WHY are they not allowed to be used against a person in court???????

    (serious people please.)

lol....i know someone who is being asked to take one by an investigator...and, if she refuses she refuses she looks bad, but if she takes it and they arent even reliable, she still looks bad.......

...maybe she just takes it and when she passes, she passes, but can you really trust the cops and investigators with the results after you pass, and still say you failed?

She may be innocent 100% but just her being extremely nervous CAN give a false result, it moniters ur heart rate movement but if ur nervous it will always be off beat

Everything I have read and heard they are pretty accurate. If she is telling the truth she shouldn't be worried so it shouldn't be an issue..

If someone is sweating like a pig, nervous, breathing heavily, it is my understanding that they could easily fail the test.

They are pretty accurate, however if you are a good con man you can beat the polygraph that is why they are not allowed in court.

The smartest criminals know how to beat them. Basically, if you convince yourself you didn't do the crime, or were in an altered mental state and don't remember doing it, etc. then you can pass the polygraph. It is very accurate at measuring deception and basically measures heart rate or something because for most people when you tell a lie you act differently even though you may not feel it.

I took one in order to get bonded before a job years and years ago. Apparently I passed since I got the job.

There's a big difference in what can be allowed in a court of law as evidence and what a private firm can do with regards to their hiring practices.

Really don't recall the exact questions, job was going to be dealing with some rather large sums of money, most of it had to do stealing money/materiels from a previous employer, was all of the info on my application correct and truthful, things like that.

I dated a cop and he had to take one before he was hired. Fortunately, he was a believable liar.
