#737I agree. ABC/Disney is anti republican. Kimmel has made numerous negative comments against Trump since Day 1. And this sob act...
You can easily get emotional because.... it is horrific and tragic... but Kimmel is still a stage performer. Night in and night out...
The Hillary comments about "silencers" was the dumbest thing I've heard in quite some time. The Dems reaching for things that just aren't there.
I also agree with one of the You Tube posters... he said.. "Evil is evil... people have tried to restrict Evil for thousands of years..."
That's exactly what happened in Vegas. Just an Evil act. Everyday in life... you're battling Evil...Comment -

#738Not here to debate gun control. Life will be life. If there are Amendments that U.S.A. citizens have a right to bear arms.... why should it be changed?
Greaser... in my opinion... if there's a group trying to steal your guns away... it's not 100% for safety. You would assume to believe it is... but there's always something deeper.... behind the scenes.
They always say... "seeing is believing"... but there's always more to a story.
I hear you. But on the flip side....
Why did they make it easier to get guns without a background check? Why did they make it easier for people with mental illness to get guns? Why are they trying to legalize silencers?Comment -

They charge for parking now. The days of cheap food and cheap everything because Vegas made their money gambling are over.
The model has evolved and Vegas is a huge service economy. Gambling revenue has become less and less of the overall picture of total revenue for the strip.
Don't get me wrong, slots make money, but it's more like securing money for big loans.
I think most of the Vegas revenue is non gaming anymore, at least that's the new business model.

#740I am a big 2nd am. right guy . But see NO NEED for semi-auto for public use. Only military and policemen really need that. They get the training that is needed for this weapon. I was infantry back in the 80's and have fired most weapons or at least types a weapons. People think the govt. is coming for them. But hell if your govt is coming after you the have a hell of a lot more fire power. I have a brother and a cousin that have twice the arsenal as this guy but as I told each of them. All they need is a good drone to take your ass out.Comment -

I guess what I'm suggesting is... I will always suspect that the govt is always "in on something" that's not for the citizens best interest. I lean towards "gun owners".... I don't think their rights should be taken away because of the 0.1% nut cases out there...
I'm not up to date on what they are trying to do... or not trying to do. Not totally aware of all of this.Comment -

#744Banning weapons because a bad person uses a weapon, would be similar to banning alcohol because of drunk drivers.
Why make policy based on the very few exceptions at the expense of the majority?
Drunk drivers kill more people than shootings involving semi-automatic weapons. If the argument is that nobody "needs" a semi-automatic weapon, nobody needs alcohol either. Where does the big govt nanny state stop at dictating what its citizens are allowed to consume or use?Comment -

#745I just heard on a news report that the gun had a "bump stock" on it which can make a semi auto auto, but that it takes training to find the sweet spot on the gun to fire it like he was.
I mean, who the fukk was this guy?
His brother didn't know shit about any of this... but he had an armory, no online profiles and very little is known about him.
And his wife is conveniently out of the country?
This shit is crazy.Comment -

Guy was a whackjob that lost it probably over gambling debts. You cant tell what goes on in the mind of a psychopath.
Although it is strange for a man of this age to lose it and kill tons of people...Comment -

#749Something about him losing his mind over gambling doesn't sit well being this was planned months in advance. The Asian woman being on the other side of the world and his dad being a world class criminal could have something to do with it. He was a fan of gambling and country music, yet he takes out people at a country concert from a casino. He had guilt/issues over something hidden under the surface for his whole life.Comment -

#750I have a hard time believing it was from gambling debts. This was a well thought out plan, not a pissed off freak out heat of the moment thing. Guy had like 17 guns in his room. If it was from gambling I would think he'd be more likely to open fire on the gaming floor. Although none of this shit really makes sense, so who knows.Comment -

#751if the guy is a millionaire and routine bettor it doesn't seem like some losing 10k bets would do it unless it was the last of his "millions."
also want to know how many times the guy stayed at the hotel, or any hotel overlooking that outdoor area. The Route 91 festival is only 3 years old so I want to know if he stayed at one of the hotels on a coinciding night in the past.
To just sit around and come up with this idea seems crazy. I would bet he has stayed at the hotel on a night there was a festival and the thought occurred to him how the people would be easy targets. It doesn't seem likely he just decided to kill a bunch of people and came up with this idea from nothing, it's possible.Comment -

#752A lot of good points here.
If you take a step back.... almost sounds like something you'd see out of movie.
Guy busts out 2 windows from a hotel bedroom...
Carrying 14-16 heavy powered weapons...
Opens fire on people down below....
Absolutely crazy.Comment -

#753This guy checked in Sept 28th. There's a ton of cameras in the hotel. I'd like to know what he was doing all weekend. Was he out and about? Or did he barricade himself in his room until deciding to launch his attack? The music festival was 3 days, so he could have chosen prior nights to attack.
If there's a motive, I think it would be to be famous. Although if you are simply going to kill yourself at the end, what's the point? These loner carefree types have no one to keep them grounded and normal. I don't understand how a retired 64 year old millionaire could plan out an attack like this. Doesn't make any sense.Comment -

#754You might be able to dodge a car or live thru an explosion, but it's damn hard to get out of the way of fully automatic rapid fire when it's pointed at you..
I'm in favor of banning rapid fire guns period.. They really serve no real purpose.. I'm not in favor of banning all guns period though. Having guns for home defense and for hunting purposes is an American right!!!.
You also gotta think back when the 2nd Amendment was implemented our founding fathers didn't see AR's and AK's spraying in major cities.. I'm sure they would have debated on that issue if they knew..

#756you guys keep using "semi-automatic" when i'm pretty damn sure you mean fully automatic....
other than bolt actions, pumps, and single shots, all other weapons are semi-automatic....
it's fully automatic that is what is generally off limits since 1986
i own 14-15 semi-automatics, mostly shotguns, and a few deer rifles and two .22'sComment -

#757I don't watch much TV, but I did watch Designated Survivor. When I heard what happened it reminded me of a scene from an episode. Guy was in a hotel looking at the capitol building with a gun in hand, a huge crowd in front of him, and the VP about to be sworn in. Never know if there's any correlation.Comment -

#767You can debate the gun issue all year and get no results. That is NOT the issue here. You can question this guys sanity all year and not come up with an answer. That is also NOT the issue here. The issue is this. How did this guy get 17 assorted long weapons (rifles, shot guns) and well over 1000 rounds of ammo into his room, not to mention two tripods. How many trips to how many vehicles over a three day period did this take? Obviously there is a major security issue here. There are literally hundreds of cameras watching every nook and cranny and angle in the casino, but not one camera watching the hallways of the rooms?Comment -

#768This investigation will take months if not years to complete. Reviewing 4+days of surveillance footage to put together a timeline on him is not a simple task in a property of MB's size. If he had any accomplices the footage will reveal it. A very close friend of ours made it out of there ok and she is absolutely convinced there was more than 1 piece of shit shooting. Not for me to say as I wasn't there but she makes a compelling case on her social media. Stephanie Cook from Top Rank boxing.
A few former peers/friends at casinos looked up his play for the companies they work for he and is not the high roller initial reports have claimed him to be. A $1-$5 vp player. Nothing to sneeze at but not a whale.Comment -
