Did Glavine need to be released to make room on the 40 man roster? Is hanson have under 3 years of minor league service? was Morton on the 40 man, before the trade? I'm not sure there is any direct connection between hanson and glavine......
Glavine's move was mostly about $ I think

$ and the fact that they just don't need him. Hanson is IMO the best pitching prospect in baseball, and Medlen is a pretty darn good prospect too.

Knowing Hanson was "ready" meant Glavine was expendable.
The Braves problem is run scoring right now, since their big comeback Tuesday vs the Cubs they've done nothing. Lowe is the ace, Jair Jurrjens is the most underrated pitcher in baseball IMO, have Vasquez, Kawakami.......but look at Jurrjens run support and you'd be appalled. Hopefully the McLouth trade will alleviate a little of this, but I still like McLouth 1st or 2nd, Chipper 3rd. Maybe lead off with Escobar and bat Kelly Johnson 7th or 8th.
That dude was throwing breaking balls that were dropping from those guys chest to there knees. If they came in at the belt, they ended up at the ankles.

Glavine wouldn't have added anything to that staff. Hanson was ready and deserved a shot. Pitching isn't the Braves problem anyway, they might have the worst OF in baseball both offensively and defensively.

I'm watching right now and his breaking ball is ridiculous. Throws mid 90's too. He's perfect through 3 with 4 k's.

This guy is special
96 mph fastball, his curve was crazy, unhittable slider...
this is the future Ace
just imagine...
Lowe, Hudson, Jurrijens, Hansen, Vazquez...
If the braves are within 5 games in August they will win the division... (when hudson gets back)
They will make another trade to get more help in the outfield too I predict... Need a cleanup hitter...

Rough couple of innings for him, but he will be fine.

Game Over Braves Lose
You can have good pitching (even though kid got roughed up today) but when you cant produce with runners on 1st and 2nd with one out you are doomed to be losers

I don't trust Gonzales but right after you said that they took the lead...
I was on Over 1st 5, Over game and braves RL so my hopes are gone for the braves but you should pick it up...
*oh and with the kid being so young and having that fastball he's gonna have to learn to keep it from over the plate...
in the big leagues all good hitters will crush that... the fastball was his downfall (left it up over the plate 3 times...=3 homers)

Nice reverse mojo!
And you are absolutely right Fiasco. Nothing whatsoever wrong with Hanson today except for grooving a few fastballs that they didn't miss. Should be a good lesson for him. Even the PITCHER crushed one he left right over the middle. That's the difference b/w here and the minors kid. Down there you could just throw it by everybody. Not anymore. Just a minor adjustment and he will be fine.
