    HE Was Pitching a shutout

0-0 in the 9th inning and some new guy comes in.

Was there some sort of injury or ejection I do not know about?

I have not been watching the game.

He had 119 pitches, he's no Sabathia.

I'd give him the ball in that situation...

And by judging by the Angels reaction, they were glad he got the ball also.

Yup, their offense exploded once he was put in there.

same shit has happened in his last several starts, that bullpen is pathetic and really hurting him this season. I would be pissed if I was him, can't do much more for your team

Leyland is a fukking tool, you ride Zoolander in this situation, this was a must win situation. Rodney is a gas can

I'll second that.... Leyland did a major choke job by not going with Zumaya or better yet should have ridden Verlander through the 9th. He was pitching amazing. Leyland always pulls pitchers based on pitch count and with bats turning cold lately that was a sabotage on a very winnable game.

I disagree...sorry this time of year there are no must wins. The Tigers are sitting pretty in a crappy division and when I think about teams using their pitchers that extra inning I remember two great arms on the same team.

Mark Pryor and Kerry Wood...look what giving them that extra inning did to their careers!
