There just might literally be an old Donald Trump tweet for everything.

Before he became President of the United States earlier this year, Trump established himself as a notorious Twitter "power user" - meaning he has spent years tweeting - and often - to the point where people are able to dig up old tweets that suddenly become relevant again.

Like this one about Justin Verlander.

The Tigers' longtime right-handed ace was traded late Thursday night to the Houston Astros for three prospects. And amid all the hubbub around baseball, people were able to dig up this gem of a tweet from Trump on Oct. 16, 2012.

"Verlander is great but very beatable. Does not have a good ERA in playoff games," Trump said.

Later that night, the Tigers hosted the New York Yankees for Game 3 of the American League Championship Series at Comerica Park. They were already up 2-0 in the series and had Verlander on the mound against Phil Hughes.

You can guess what happened next.

Verlander tossed 8.1 innings, giving up just one run on 3 hits while striking out three. The Tigers won 2-1 and went on to sweep the series the following day. And this was just days after Verlander threw a complete-game shutout in Game 5 of the ALDS against the Oakland Athletics - on the road.

Justin Verlander will wear No. 35 for the Astros, the same number he had worn for the Detroit Tigers since the beginning of his 2006 American League rookie of the year campaign.

Francisco Liriano, who had worn No. 35 for the Astros since he was acquired before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline, has assumed No. 46.
