    Vegas Dave's Baseball Picks 06/05/09
Pick 1: Kansas City Royals -1.5 over Toronto Blue Jays (+112)

Romero has had two straight poor outings since coming off the DL, and you are getting the best pitcher in the game this season in Greinke. The moneyline might be a bit safer, but I don't trust the Royals in a close game late anyway; either they get Greinke some run support and they win by 2, or they continue to slump and blow his good start. I think they'll be getting him that run support and the win today.

Pick 2: Milwaukee Brewers +108 over Atlanta Braves

Jurrjens has been great this year, but so has Gallardo. Not only do I think Gallardo is the better pitcher, but Milwaukee has the stronger offense as well. I'll take the +money on them.

Pick 3: Cleveland Indians @ Chicago White Sox Under 9 (-105)

Both Danks and Pavano are capible of solid enough outings to keep this game under 9, and the way these offenses are capible of falling asleep, one of them should put a nice game together.

Pick 4: St. Louis Cardinals -1.5 over Colorado Rockies (+127)

Wainwright had a bad outing in his last out, but I'm willing to chalk that one up to "just one of those starts", as he pitched so exceptionally well in the three before it. De La Rosa has been horrible in three straight, and St. Louis has the offense to keep that trend going.

    Good Luck!

FULL DISCLOSURE: I am negative units on the season, as you can see in my signature and on my spreadsheet. While I do work really hard to cap these games and hope to finish the season in the green, don't want anyone tailing me thinking I'm better than I actually am. Hopefully if you choose to tail me its because you agree with my write-ups .

I like the Wainwright pick, but not sure I'd take them on the run line. Have to wonder if Atkins started to turn things around last night. Also like the Indians, ChiSox under. Hope they both cash for you.

Will reserve comment on your Greinke pick, especially since we've already had a lot of comments between us this morning in the office

Me fading lousy pitchers on the runline is like the best thing that could happen for their careers!

                    Yesterday:

                    Brett Anderson (5.70 ERA going in): 7.0 IP, 6 H, 0 BB, 0 ER
                    Jason Hammel (4.83 ERA going in): 7.0 IP, 4 H, 2 BB, 2 ER

                    Today so far:

                    Jorge De La Rosa: 5 IP, 3 H, 1 BB, 0 ER
Ray Romero (not lousy but has been lately): 7 IP, 5 H, 2 BB, 3 ER
