I get that bunting during a no hitter is cheap sometimes. But it was the 6th inning, and it was only a 4 run game. How often do you see a guy lose a no-hitter late in the game and then serve up a home run to lose the shutout too? Just getting the bunt-base-hit can get in the pitcher's head and maybe get your rally going.
These guys are getting paid millions of dollars to try to win ball games. I understand that if it is the 8th or 9th inning of a game you are trailing by 10, for the sake of the integrity of the game you don't lay down the bunt.
But down only 4 runs with 4 frames left? How is this even remotely wrong? Bunts are a part of the game. I'd much rather my team be trying to win.
