I've got 27 days left in my current job before it gets combined with another position. Been looking for a new job for months. It's pretty F-ing irritating and fruitless.


Had two interviews to this point. Last one was last week, hoping to the God that it works into another interview or a damn job offer. Looking at job sites every day is sucking the life out of my soul dudes.

I had knee surgery in March! My job is Delivery Driver, physical work! I have done that for almost 10 yrs, trying to change fields of work as I'm not sure if my knee will respond to that type of work very well anymore. I've been looking for about 3 mths and nothing really! So i'm in the same boat as you!

Why not ask them why they are canning you and not the other guy that the job is being combined with...I think you got the shaft!

I work for a university. The job I do now is being combined and termed as a faculty position. Basically, they want someone to do 2 jobs for the price of one and think they are going to find someone with a Master's Degree who wants to do my job too. They're going to end up with a teacher who doesn't know how to do my job basically.

EP, sorry to hear about the frustration, know the feeling well. Between jobs about six years ago, took a job mowing fairways and greens for eight bucks an hour just to have something to do. Wasn't aware you worked at the university there, great little school in my book. Hope something comes through for you soon.
