maybe, maybe not.....we split the regular season series 1-1. Losing in Chapel Hill 3-1 then shutting them out in Greenville 4-0. Sensational freshman Kevin Brandt (9-1) can make a claim that only one other pitcher in the nation can make, shutout the Tar Heels. These 2 teams are more evenly matched than the rankings show, whoever makes the fewest errors in the series advances. My pick to walk out of Omaha with the Championship.....the Virginia Cavaliers.

1 more thing, it's not smart sleeping on C-USA like the rest of the nation....we only got 3 teams in the field and the only conference with all their teams still remaining in the field.

Rice (43-16) comes out of their bracket beating a very good Kansas St team (41-16) ranked in the top 10 throughout most the season.

Southern Miss (38-24) was the 5th ranked team in C-USA but due to their conference tournament run they got in over Houston and Tulane and went to Georgia Tech (38-19) who finished 1 game behind UNC in the Coastal Division, and embarrassed them on their home field to advance to the Supers.

ECU (46-18) C-USA regular season champs, in the Regional played 5 games in 3 days, fighting off elimination winning 3 straight games, 2 of those against the 2nd ranked team (SC) in the Eastern Division behind Florida.
