some takeaways...

1) bigday still hasn't won a forum pick, something like 0-233
2) friday's fights were great, saturday everything after showtime pettis was a total snooze fest, my son said he's never going to another ufc event after that. i would've rather watched grass grow than that last 2 hours or so.
3) fighters should be unpaid for a lack of action. i understand feeling out the opponent and getting timing down, but that first round of overeem/werdum was so painful. a combined 11 strikes in 5 minutes?
4) at some point in the near future ufc is going to decline as badly as nascar, the novelty is wearing thin and as a spectator sport it is no longer worth the money... without superstars like ronda rousey and conor mcgregor there's just no excitement... many like me will point to this ppv as the turning point. what was expected to be a stacked card ended up without the main event, without robbie lawler. 2 of the biggest matches cancelled and the rest of the main card was just awful

so i flew to vegas with my son for fight week, wasting a couple grand, and i'm not a fight fan, ok...

part of it was being there for 6 hours back-back nights, but we were far from the only ones in the crowd thinking it was a let down

I thought it was entertaining but it doesn't take much to get me hyped. They gave out ticket refunds to people that requested it. I didn't even check to see if Comcast would refund it as I thought it was worth it. All I watch is sports and stocks, so I don't mind paying for it. It is much cheaper to order a ppv than take my kids to the movies.
