How many bogeys at 2009 US Open?
Anyone have any info that would help me figure out a close estimate for the amount of bogeys at this years US Open? It will be held at Bethpage Black State Park in Ny. Golf Digest has rated Bethpage Black as the #6 of America's toughest golf courses if this helps at all. If you just have an estimate that works as well, thanks all!

Wasn't the Open at Bethpage Black about 6 years ago or so? I would guess that it is going to play similar to then so I would look up that info.

It is impossible to estimate, it depends on who's in the field and how they are playing going into the tournament. If you are asking this question obviously you don't know much about golf.

There are many ways to shoot a 72. Some will bogey 1 hole and birdie 1 hole, some will birdie 4 holes and bogey 2 and make a double. To try and predict bogeys, per player, per day is not possible. All you can do is guess and hope you get lucky

obviously but if i have the sats from 2002 us open i will have a more educated guess, nothing to do with how much I know about golf, courses change and 02 stats will give me a better estimate, thanks for nothing though

Even looking at bogeys the last time the US Open was at Beth Page are useless. By now the course won't be playing the same and not all the players that played in that tournament will be playing in this tournament. And even if all the same players were playing again they are all going to shoot different scores and in different ways.

whether you like my answer or not it is the truth. No stats are going to help you. Someone who looks at nothing is going to have the same chance you do even if you have 2 days of research of US Open past.

Golf is too unpredictable especially on a golf course that can turn a good shot into a double bogey. I am not trying to be a prick, I am just telling you what the reality of your question is.

It is nothing more than a crap shoot..........period

so u dont think that stats from the same course would give me a better estimate of the # of bogeys, I have no idea what to guess at all so it would help me for sure, at least in the +/- 50 or so range hopefully.

well good luck to you but I still think those numbers aren't going to end up quite different than last time.

Its like me going out and playing the same course 2 times. May shoot the same score but get their in 2 different ways.

Wish my book offered more golf prop bets.

My book only offers "Will there be a hole in one" and "Will there be a playoff".
Go in on the Hole in one at +145, since there were 3 in 2002 on 3 different holes.

Handicapping bogeys sounds like a pain in the ass, but here are the stats from '02
