The Minnesota Twins and the Tampa Bay Rays have very similar records, and so do the two starters who will be facing off this afternoon.
The Twins' Nick Blackburn is 4-2 with a 3.55 ERA and the Rays Matt Garza is 4-3 with a 3.65 ERA. Those are both very respectable statistics for two young right-handers.
The difference is what each has done in his last three starts and who they've done it against. Garza has given up eight earned runs in just under 19 innings for an ERA of 3.86 while Blackburn has surrendered five earned runs in just under 22 innings for an ERA of 2.08.
These stats would be essentially equal if Garza had faced the tougher opponents, but in fact while Garza went up against Cleveland (twice) and Oakland in his last three, Blackburn faced the White Sox, Yankees, and Red Sox. Clearly the advantage of late goes to the Minnesota right-hander.
Similar to the performance of these two starters, when it comes to the way these two squads have been performing lately, it's also advantage to the Twins. Including last night's victory by the Rays, Minnesota is 6-3 in its last nine games while Tampa is 4-5. Look for Minnesota to avenge last night's tough defeat.
Take the Twins at a price.

Good value on the Twins at +145. Guessing the line is set high on the Rays since the Twins are 5-16 on the road and have lost 11 of their last 12 road games.

Fisher, I am glad to wake up every day.
Good work with the profits today.
I grinded a little + myself hitting a +122, +140, +220, +450, & +650 while also losing several other plays.

Yeah, poker is good. Got burned out even in winning some money, Fisher. Played a lot of hold em' before the boom back in late 90's. Used to love and play the late tables with a lot of impaired drinkers on line. Not played any lately except for a couple SBR tourneys. Prior to that I let the cook & son play for awhile on my accounts. She became pretty good during the time she played.

Poker, although profitable, is a massive grind.

They are all worth waking up for in my books... Because if you did not wake up for one would that not not be your last?

Four reasons......
1. Twins solid SP
2. Value at +145
3. Asking subpar Rays to sweep?
3. Big AL
