I've given this a lot of thought, what do the books gain out of a favorite throwing the first set in a women's match?
favorite to win fist set = loser
-1.5 on the fav = loser
Then there's the added benefit of people getting scared after the first set and hedging their bets and/or taking the dog in a big numbers.

I've only been following this for a week and I've seen this trend again and again...
Favorite gets blown out in the first set and comes roaring back to win the match.
It's fixed for betting but they aren't just giving matches away, they're trying to win.
