Bitstamp has been very good for me lately. They take transactions immediately and the fees are much better than CB. What I don't like about CB is that some fees aren't disclosed until after you buy/sell. That's bullshit.

If Bitstamp would offer ACH deposits/purchases I would use them, but they don't and wire transfers are not convenient for me since the bank I use does not offer online wires and the fee defeats the purpose when I can simply use a credit card for smaller purchases.

Dogecoin a nice story but not sure it was ever meant to have utility. It was done for fun, uses a very simple algorithm that means powerful miners can pretty much take it over and there is no limit to the amount of coins mined.

Not really an investment product I don't think.

Bitstamp lowered the CC fee, when I signed up they were 8% (fuk that). Competition is a good thing, in time I think Coinbase will get better (return of instant ACH, etc.). I do think the explosion of interest in crypto has caught these exchanges unprepared, hence the temp suspensions for trading, verifications, etc. Growing pains, if you will. At least I hope so.

Tough call. I want to say 15k to be optimistic. But there might be a lot of sell off in Jan with people taking profit in the new year.
This XRP run reminds of when ETH went on a huge run and everyone thought the "flippening" was happening. ETH ended up pulling back and BTC became dominant again.
Every time I have ever shorted bitcoin I've gotten rekt.

Guys I know very little about this...but I can read technical charts. With BTC there seems to be a lot of resistance @ the $ 16,500 range..if it breaks through this , it may well test the $ 19,000 range. On the down side,there is a ton of support around the $ 14,200 range..if it breaches that price,it could fall another $ 2,000 or more................I hope this helps!......gl

I have a lot on Ripple. I have a limit sell on if it falls too low, then of course I would loan back up into it. I hope it doesn't drop below 1.85 being more than $2 but of course they all have their ups and downs.

The big thing for me on Ripple is the rumors of it hitting coinbase and if that ever were to happen, that coin would skyrocket in price. So you could gamble it goes down and buy then or buy now and hope it continues to rise.

It's like anything else, take the shot now or wait....but then if it continues to rise, you missed your shot or pay more to buy later.

On flip side, litecoin keeps dropping and every share I have bought of litecoin, the price drops afterwards. I'm doing well on the little guys and doing awful on the big ones.

I've been with Bitstamp over a year and a half. They are solid. Their CC fees are much more reasonable now. I love that it is instant. Once you verify your CC transaction, the coin is in your account real time. It's the only exchange that I know of that you can buy XRP ripple directly. My CC can purchase at least $5k. I tried $10k and $7,500 a few weeks ago and it didn't go through but that may be a daily limit on that card?? I probably could have just created another transaction? I've only deposited using CC, so I'm not sure how the CC works.

XRP is always quoted lower on Bitstamp, so when I go to buy, I can get more XRP for the same price than if I went elsewhere, so even with the fees, I'm better off buying from there.

I sent $1k to a book around 4am CST with priority and I checked 30 minutes later and it was there. I'm not sure how long it actually took but the fee was only $17. I sent BTC from GDAX to Bittrex and GDAX to blockchain last night and both took under an hour to confirm.

You're basically putting money under your bed. Inflation and a lower US dollar (which has been happening the last few months and will continue) eats away your investment. It's a good holding ground when you want to get out of a coin but it's the same as moving a coin to cash.

The US dollar keeps going lower and lower. It's much better to move cash to Euros, GBP, or Indian Rupee right now.

its gonna be at $1 soon.... just hold for a year.. even if it doesn't move, you'll end up making more by only having to pay 15% capital gains tax as opposed to 35%
