Two guys at work today were telling me how BTC was a sham and a bubble and it had no value because it's not real money

So I logged onto to Coinbase and shipped $30k in Eth to my bank account

I think it comes down to your own risk factor. Obviously one side will say more eggs in the basket (8-12 different assets in a portfolio is a common spread stock guys like to use) so you have leverage if coins drop, but another more gamble mentality view is that very few of these coins will be a long term success while most will go completely bust so just pick 2 or 3 at most and gamble to hit that lotto ticket 2000% gainer...just my .02

Does anyone use binance? Do you have problems withdrawing?. I just find it wierd that they to don't and I for identification when creating an account. Is this site legit?

Coinbase getting crushed on Twitter, being shady with thousands of withdraws again. Man, to own this much market share in the Us and just absolutely handle every single high volume situation poorly is just asking for someone to crush them.

Ps. Rumors circling they were institution that bought the 450 million xrp, obviously just rumors but would make a lot of sense if they were going to add it.

As much as I'd love to see them add it for the sake of my portfolio, I have to ask............they can't handle transactions now when they have high volume and after how bumpy the rollout of BCH was they want to add another coin?

I wish CEX was available in my state and I wish Gemini would tell me why they wouldn't open an account for me when I tried 4 months ago so I could have another option besides CB.

I would wager a lot of money the “scaling issues” “not being able to handle volume” “maintenance bs” is just that, bs. They have liquidity issues, and they manipulate the market in any time that works for them and just claim they’re having issues with scaling or maintenance. I don’t use Them except for storage anymore. But their issues have way too convenient of timing every single time.

Dogecoin a nice story but not sure it was ever meant to have utility. It was done for fun, uses a very simple algorithm that means powerful miners can pretty much take it over and there is no limit to the amount of coins mined.

Not really an investment product I don't think.

Coinbase can get fukkked. I deposited $10k last week and they took my money immediately but it won't post until next Friday the 5th, 2 weeks later. That is bullshit. I won't be depositing any more money into that shit hole.

It has a lot of utilities. It's looking to take the place of "likes" on sites like FB and reddit, where you can send dogecoins instead of just likes. If I post something worthwhile, one day we might send dogecoins instead of betpoints. It's setup to send lots of little transactions of very small amounts. I think it can catch on. Most people like "likes" but everyone likes coins.

I have Binance and Bittrex as my main exchanges for alts. The issue is obtaining the main coins (BTC and ETH) with USD so I can exchange those for alts. Coinbase is the easiest method for me with ACH purchases and credit card purchases and I can send it for free through GDAX along with the reverse when liquidating; but I'm also at their mercy at the same time when it comes to transferring and their site being down (and I'd be royally screwed if they ever closed my account). If I can find another site where I can easily obtain the main coins for a reasonable fee, it'd be nice to have a backup.

Of course I'd also like it if Coinbase would activate the instant ACH option on my account and if Square Cash would activate Bitcoin buy/sell on my account, I'd at least have a safety valve to liquidate if things with south with Coinbase.

Still 1.5% on ACH (locked in at the price cheap, but can't spend the coins for a week) and 4% on cc (instant access, but expensive). If time isn't an issue, just ACH deposit USD into their wallet and you can do free limit orders on GDAX.

Not until the money shows up in the GDAX account. I'm waiting 2 weeks on my last deposit. Pathetic.

Bitstamp has been very good for me lately. They take transactions immediately and the fees are much better than CB. What I don't like about CB is that some fees aren't disclosed until after you buy/sell. That's bullshit.
