Delaware Supreme Court Unanimously approves of betting! Straight wagers most likely
If anyone reported this already forgive me, I have been following this closely and this decision doesn't only affirm that there will be SOME TYPE of sports betting but rather Straight wagers/props/parlays/teasers etc etc etc...... The NFL tried to argue picking games is skill which would violate the constitution of Delaware but the justices ruled the point spread counteracts the skill of picking a game, essentially making straight wagers an option and it has been very clear that this is the Governers goal.... the floodgates are open boys 3 1/2 months from now i will be sitting in the Sportsbook at Harrington Raceway or Dover downs watching the Steelers woop some ass on a big screen and walking to a window to cash the ticket afterwards.... Delaware is going to make a killing here. The eastern seaboards now has a new home for slots, ponies, table games and SPORTS BETTING sorry Atlantic City

Delaware Supreme Court gives OK to sports betting
By RANDALL CHASE – 1 day ago
DOVER, Del. (AP) — The Delaware Supreme Court says a proposed sports betting lottery does not conflict with the state constitution.
The opinion was requested by Gov. Jack Markell, who has signed a bill that would make Delaware the only state east of the Rocky Mountains to offer sports wagering.
In a 22-page ruling dated Wednesday, the court says the state constitution permits lotteries that have an element of skill, as long as chance is the predominant factor in winning or losing.
The justices also say the proposed sports lottery satisfies the constitutional requirement that lotteries be under state control.
The NFL opposes the lottery and has said it may challenge the bill in court.

The Delaware Supreme Court ruled yesterday that Governor Jack Markell's sports betting program is legal under the state constitution. Despite argument from attorneys representing the National Football League, the five justices decided unanimously that the sports gambling bill qualified under lottery restrictions.

The crux of the NFL position lies with the specious reasoning that because games are decided by skill, betting on games also is predominantly skill. Delaware's lottery law requires games featured to be predominantly chance.

But the court said an element of skill is acceptable as long as chance is the major component. NFL lawyers have also failed to prove that any skill in picking game winners exists in a point-spread system, which reduces games to coin flip propositions.

"We do not believe that promoting additional betting on college and professional athletes and games is healthy for sports,’’ said an NFL statement, adding a lawsuit may be forthcoming.

“This decision resolves the legal issues that have been presented and provides a solid legal framework for our sports lottery. With this guidance in hand, we are moving forward with implementing a successful sports lottery in Delaware,” said a statement released by the governor after the court's ruling was announced.

Atmosphere, players club, horsee track and table games on location, cash in hand in seconds after finish, It is the ultimate in security of funds no questions as to getting paid or not ever that is enough for me and who knows they may have some very weak numbers. That is the reason they discontinued the parlay thing they had in the 70's. The lines were off and people hammered it.

I can't wait, Delaware is just an hour away. I will still keep my accounts offshore open because I seriously doubt that delaware can match the juice discounts that I enjoy at Pinny or Matchbook, and keeping the cash where I don't see it is better for me. I will still support the sports betting in Delaware with some light betting to get that immediate payoff feeling that has been lacking over the last ten years since I left the bookies at the chinese resturant.
