I go on my Facebook this morning, and a bunch of my friends from NYC are raving about how great the FIRST PLACE Yankees are. I just looked at who they have beaten this month and they have beaten up on crappy teams. Baltimore, Texas, Minnesota. They lost to Philadelphia and Boston. The Yankees are nothing until they can win a series against a REAL team. Honestly Yankees fans, I wouldn't get that excited.

I thought plenty about what I was saying. First case in point. Texas has the 3rd best record in baseball right now. Yes they do, but keep in mind who THEY have played as well. Beating subpar teams does not make you a good ballclub. Minny is a .500 team right now. That is all that needs to be said. When they play better, than say something. The Yankees lost TWO OUT OF THREE TO PHILLY. YOur whole "they should have bet them" statement is as dumb as your response. I can say that the Yankees should have lost two out of three to the Twins when they came back and won on two walk offs but I am not going to say that. A loss is a loss. End of story. Having A-Rod back ain't gonn aget you any rings. That is proven. Never been clutch, never will be.

I don't see how I am worse. I am making a statement. Maybe it is a bold statement, but one that can be backed up by fact. Like I said, I have seen 5 Yankees fans on Facebook gloating about how great the Yankees are now. I was just saying that before they get all high and mighty, they need to look at who they have beaten. ANY true baseball fan would look at my points and agree, the Yankees have had a run of wins against sub-par teams this mont, and lost to the teams they need to beat to be considered elite.

No it is not. The statement was made that the Twins offense was on fire. Against the Red Sox this series, they averaged 3 runs a game. That is not that great. It is not like the Twins have been an offensive juggarnaut all season.

Well Casper here is a fact...when the yankees were making their World Series Runs in the mid 90s in which they won 95+ games every year...ya know how they got there? They beat up on bad teams all year long...they did OK against the superior competition because in the end that is all you need to be against the good teams is alright. You need to beat the teams you are supposed to beat.

I am a Yankees fan, am I gloating? Absolutely not because for one the season is still VERY young and secondly they are doing what they are supposed to be doing. I know that there are a lot of fans out there that are much more nearsighted and don't look at the big picture and you just have to dismiss them. THere are just as many Red Sox fans that do the same thing. If had a nickel for every Red Sox fan that called me after every time they beat the Yankees I would be a rich man but do I ever call them when the Yankees beat them? Amby, I respect your stand on the Yankees. The Yankees of the 90's are a lot different than the Yankees of the 00's. As far as Red Sox fans littering my Facebook so far this season, I haven't seen it yet. We have no reason to gloat. We have not beaten some teams we should be beating as well. Listen, do I think the Yankees will be in the running when the season is drawing to a close, absolutely. Do I think the Yankees are playing their best ball right now. No I do not. All I am saying is the Yankees fans that I am now confronted with are excited about a team that really hasn't impressed me as of yet. When they beat a good team (and I assume they will) I will be the first to give them props.

Definately not upset. I grw up in NYC/NJ as a Sox fan and have had so many shares of altercations and arguments about the rivalry it is mind boggling I am still alive. The rivalry is ALWAYS a great thing. LIsten, I honestly believe that the Yankees are going to be a solid team. As well as I know the Red sox (which is extremely well) I know the Yankees just about as well. I have seen them live over 100 times and read the Post, News daily. Used to listen to WFAN constantly. I am not speaking out of hater mode. I am speaking out of truth mode. Any SMART Yankee fan is not jumping up and down over their latest winning streak. They know that until they beat good teams, they haven't truly arrived. Teela, you will get yours at the bash. Keep it up young lady. I got a wooden paddle with a Red Sox logo with your name on it.

I'm a true Yankees fan and am excited about their current win streak. The fact that the Yankees are a half game behind your Sox has me in a good mood as well. The Yanks could be in dire straights right now but their doing what their supposed to do.....beat up on weaker teams. The Yankees for the most part have not been at full strength this year when you take the following into consideration.

Wang has been terrible, hurt and now in bullpen limbo.
Bruney is hurt and we don't have a bridge to Mo.
Mo hasn't been Mo but has been getting better as of late.
Their starting RF is hurt and currently rehabbing.
Both their catchers (Jorge & Molina) on the DL at the same time.
A-Rod

Thanfully Jorge is back today and Melky will be back soon. We can talk about beating winning teams when the Yanks are at full strength. For now I'm more than happy with where their at today and am looking forward to see how they do against the Tribe.

I hear what you are saying Cash $ but understand that every team can say they are not at full strength. The Wang thing is a joke. The guy has lost it in my opinion. Even with Bruney healthy, your bullpen is suspect at best. Cleveland who is playing better as of late (sweeping Tampa Bay who they have beaten 19 times in a row at home) is still not a high caliber team. I need to look at the Yankees schedule to see whrn their next BIG series is.

Those two series are going to be good tests. The Blue Jays although were playing well, were definately playing over there heads. They have come back to earth as of late. We shall see how June treats em.
